Function(s): to express plans for the future or decisions made at the moment.

Skills focus: speaking, reading.

WARM UP:

Put on the board images of celebrations such as wedding, karaoke, pub, discotheque,
barbeque, dinner, Christmas, new years eve, pool party, beach party.
Ask students what they plan to do this weekend or at the end of the year or if they are going
to a party.
If they do, ask where, when and how they plan to have everything they need, if there is going
to be any food or drinking.

LESSON BODY:

Write down on the board Will and ask students how it is used.
Students will answer. You have to explain briefly that will is used in promises, or decisions
made at the moment.
Pronounce a short sentence using will, and students repeat. Then, write down the sentence
and say another similar sentence.

Students answer. You explain that is used for plans and decisions made in advanced.

Ask students what is the position of these two auxiliaries in the sentence.

Provide students a small worksheet where they have to complete the sentences with the
missing form of future. Do the first one with them so they can understand how to do it. Then,
students have to reorganize the words to make sentences.
After each activity, check the answers with the students and correct them if necessary.
Provide an explanation for each answer, so students can understand better.

10 minutes

Put on the board images of food that you generally eat in celebrations
Say the name of each of them and make students repeat them. After that, choose a student
that goes to the front and you give him/her, a flashcard with the name of the food. The
student has to put it under the image that corresponds to that word.

5 minutes


Students are divided into 10 groups and each group receives an image. The groups have to
create a short dialogue based on the situation given, at least 2 sentences per students in the
group and one vocabulary word each student.

10 minutes




WRAP UP:

Students present in front of the class their dialogues and act.
