EARLY REGISTRATION DAY, GPTA MEETING AND
RECOGNITION OF HONOR PUPILS
(Narrative Report)

Last January 26, 2013, Saturday, the Conalum Elementary School rolled out a one-day early
enrolment for incoming Kinder and Grade 1 students ahead of the usual summer enlistment. The
Department of Education has declared the day as Early Registration Day for School Year 2013-2014
to ensure the enrolment of all students in public schools. But enrolment in Kindergarten and Grade
1 was prioritized. This was done following the launch last year of DepEd's K to 12 Basic Education
Program, in which all 5-year old children are required to study kindergarten.
Parents concerned all went to school to have their children enrolled. Given the prior notice,
many of them arrived as early as seven thirty in the morning. There were 39 enrollees listed. All
teachers, not only the kinder and grade one, were present. To make the most of the day, we also had
our quarterly General PTA Meeting and Pupils Recognition for the 3
rd
quarter. It was almost ten
oclock when the short program was started. As usual, it was opened with a prayer by Mr. Jose A.
Inocente and the Singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Everybody was warmly greeted and
welcomed by our newly installed principal, Mrs. Elisa P. Payot. Then followed right up by the
detailed financial reports of the disbursing officer. The next part was the advocacy of the school
rules and regulations by our school principal giving concentration on the childrens welfare with
regards to their safety and discipline. It was also backed up when the Barangay Captain gave his
important message. Preceding the Captains message was the giving of Certificates of Merit to
deserving pupils for the third quarter.
Other agenda of the meeting included the tagbo for the coming school evaluation and lastly
the signing of the report cards of the pupils.
Our school was so lucky to have been visited by one of the Division Personnel in the person
of Mrs. Felicidad T. Espinoza, who was assigned in our area to ensure the conduct of the
registration. She was delighted to find that the activity was actively participated by the parents and
the barangay leaders and the list of enrollees was beyond expectations. The program was also
attended by the Barangay Chairman, Hon. Celso E. Malanguis along with his councilmen and of
course, the GPTA Officers headed by Hon. Hartwell M. Padilla. The activity had not been that
successful if it there wasnt a full and genuine cooperation shown by the school principal, the
teachers, the parents and the barangay officials.
