Module III
15. a) A company has 2 grade of inspectors 1 and 2 to undertake quality control
inspection. Atleast 3000 pieces must be inspected in an 8 hour day. Grade I
inspector can check 30 pieces in an hour with an accuracy of 96%. Grade II
inspector can check 25 pieces in an hour with an accuracy of 90%. The daily
wages of Grade I inspectors are Rs. 10 per hour while those of Grade II
inspectors are Rs. 8 per hour. Any error made by an inspector costs Rs. 3 to the
company. If there in all, 10 Grade I inspectors and 15 Grade II inspectors in the
company, find the optimal assignment of inspectors that minimize the daily
inspection cost. Formulate a mathematical model.
