locking ring from engine 'lock. then unscrew the muffler.

clutch wrench. loosen the starter clutch '# turning the clutch counter clockwise Be
sure to ha!e someone hel" #ou '#
hol$ing the engine assem'l#
secure.
/f the starter clutch $oes not
loosen. then use a "unch an$
hammer. an$ strike $own on the
1ear2 of the starter clutch in a
counter clockwise $irection.
emo!e the starter clutch an$

o not loose the alignment ,ey)
#"% emo!e the c#lin$er hea$ 'olts using a 34
com'ination wrench or socket wrench. emo!e the
c#lin$er hea$ an$ gasket. /ns"ect the c#lin$er hea$
for an# $amage.
Be care0ul not to tear the cylinder head gas,et)
##% emo!e the 'reather co!er an$ gasket using a 11/%5 wrench
or screw$ri!er.

#&% emo!e the crankcase co!er with a 7/16ths or 11mm wrench or socket or a 7%
(hilli"s screw$ri!er. /f e8ui""e$ with a gasket carefull#
remo!e it. The co!er has to 'e remo!e$ e!enl# $ue to
the 5 location "ins that are installe$ on the crankcase.

#'% +arefull# remo!e the camshaft. noting the alignment marks
with the crankshaft. The 5 $ots must line u" $uring
installation.
emo!e the 5 cam followers.
#-% otate the crankshaft so that the "iston is at the 'ottom of the c#lin$er.
emo!e the 5 'olts hol$ing the connecting ro$ ca" an$ oil $i""er with a 7/16ths or
11mm wrench or socket.
emo!e the connecting ro$ ca" noting
the assem'l# marks on the connecting
ro$ an$ connecting ro$ ca".
otate the crankshaft to "lace the "iston
at the to" of the c#lin$er. then "ush the
"iston an$ connecting ro$ assem'l# out
of the to" of the c#lin$er.
eassem'le the connecting ro$ an$ ca"
in the correct "osition. Tighten the 'olts
han$ tight.
emo!e the crankshaft from the
crankcase.
