Note to those doing the Uttama Upasana Padhati.
You have come this far only by Her Grace. Now I am going to share with you in all
humility that knowledge that is not covered in public sermons. At each important step
in this sadhana I would check with appropriate authorities in Kerala to make sure that
I was not ust imagining things. According to them I was going on a path not hitherto
revealed to those who had included the upasana of the !evi "ahatmyam in their
repertoire of upasanas including themselves. #hey also corroborated the authenticity
of the details of the manasa pua. $imilar uni%ue upasanas on other devatas & though
the e'ploration of these were shorter in duration( had yielded complete manasa pua
rituals that were very consistent with the devata. )'ample the *orship of
+aalanaaraayana, the Infant on the -ipal .eaf and $haakaambari. )ach upasana
paddhati was formali/ed into writing only after several years of abhyaasa and
anubhava.
I was advised in 0112 that it was time I released the !evi "ahatmyam pua to those
fit to receive. I was still very hesitant however after the Kalame/huthu 33that took
place in 4anuary in Kerala I realised that indeed if I did not do so I would be negligent
in my duty. #his 5ttama upasana was then decided6 strengthened by the needs of a
handful of students who love the "other.
I take no credit for any such knowledge that has come to me. I have the habit of giving
all the credit to my Kuladevata $hri "ukambika since the 7891s. $hree "ukambika is
an icon or murthi associated with my family starting with my father. #he temple is
located in Kollur6 $outhern Karnataka6 India. $he opened for me secrets of Her Glory
not known even to the priests who worship her in Kollur. $ince then any te't in any
religion6 that I wish to pursue6 would open up hidden truths. $o too any devata I
wished to do upasana to6 would facilitate entry and bonding. $he indeed facilitated
my entry into :arayana +uddhism and the Kabbalah too and now the $ufi tradition.
I do not consider myself a Guru instead I like to think I am a $ahacharee, a travelling
companion who will be on the path with the sadhak for the time being.
"y love for $anatana !harma as practiced in India has concretised itself into the
!evi6 an icon of $hree "ukambika that is now in )ugene6 whom I often call )5G)NIA.
After conducting 7; years of intense worship in .os Angeles. I have given Her away as
a foster mother would give away her precious daughter in the Indian custom. $hri,
:idya mukambika and is housed in a temple with other deities6 under the total loving
care of Arsha :ignana "andiram6 )ugene. #hrough the many traditional activities
conducted here6 $he continues to serve the needs of those who are from the land of
+harat and those who are drawn to its rituals in a deep way. #hough the connection is
deep I am no longer involved in the workings of the #emple there.
<ver years of sadhana in many paths originating from many lands I have the
conviction that some form or other of $anatana !harma has e'isted all over the
world. )ven though some mercenary religious movements have suppressed these
traditions6 they are not altogether lost. It is the essence of all of these that has been
concretised in the Goddess of the Green "ovement6 "other $haakaambaree& the =loud
that rains the Greens(.$he is an icon e'%uisitively carved complete with no e'traneous
adornments. Her residence is in -etaluma6 =alifornia6 in an Adobe !ome "editation
$hrine since 0171. #he emphasis here is not ritual but rather total and silent surrender
while seated singly within. #he shrine area also has a subterranean Yoni kundam for
fire offerings. A shrine to the ancestors of the land and the installation of Karma
purusha6 $ickle holding protector representing Karma are both to be installed soon.
