DYLENE SERDAN

This Judicial Affidavit of Dylene Serdan, the Witness, is executed to serve as her direct
testimony in the instant case.
This Judicial Affidavit is being offered to prove the statements in the Counter Affidavit
including all other related matters, facts and circumstances relevant and material to this case.
This Judicial Affidavit was taken at the office of Atty. Jezzene Gail R. Paler at Abgao,
Maasin City, Southern Leyte
Questions were propounded by Atty. Jezzene Gail R. Paler and these questions were
numbered consecutively followed by the answer of the Witness.
1. Do you swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth?
- I do
2. Are you aware that you may face criminal liability for false testimony or perjury if you
do not tell the truth?
- I am
3. Please state your name, age and other relevant personal circumstances.
- I am Dylene Serdan, 28 years old, married, an Assistant Professor VII at
Visayas State University, Political Science Department and a resident of
Hiposngo, Baybay City.
4. Do you know Rhea Sampaguita, the accused of this case?
- Yes
5. Why do you know her?
- She is one of my top students in my Political Science 111 class.
6. Where were you on the afternoon of August --, 2013?
- I was in Room 259 of the AS Building
7. What were you doing on Room 259 of the AS Building?
- I was conducting the Mid-Term Examinations for Political Science 111.
8. Can you recall the exact happenings during the Mid-Term Examinations for Political
Science 111?
- At around 12:50 PM, I entered Room 259 to prepare my things for the
examination. At exactly 1 oclock I checked the attendance of my class,
nobody was absent. I asked Ms. Rhea Sampaguita to distribute the
examination papers to her classmates. After distributing, she sat in the front
seat of Row 3, across the teachers table, my table.
9. What time did the examination end?
- The exam ended 7 oclock in the evening.
10. Can you recall the exact episode after the end of the examination?
- The last person who submitted the answer sheet was Rhea Sampaguita. Being
the last person on the room, I asked her to wait for me so that we could walk
together and so I could drop her off at Red Gate Dormitory, her residence in
the campus.
11. After that, what happened?
- When I dropped her off her dormitory, Rhea Sampaguita invited me to wait
for her in the lobby because she would invite me for dinner because her sister
from Dubai came home.
12. While you were waiting for Rhea Sampaguita, what happened next?
- I heard screams from Room 6, their room. So I went to check what was
happening and I saw her roommate, by the name of Mirzi Rio Damole,
searching and shouting looking for her lost phone. And Rhea Sampaguita just
left her bag and told her roommate, Mirzi, that she has to excuse herself and
go ahead because her sister is waiting for her. She would just help Mirzi in
looking for her phone when she gets home.
