Agricultural activities[edit] Laguna has 60,624 hectares of alienable and disposable agricultural land. About 41,253 ha or 23.44% of Lagunas total land area is forest land. Laguna de Bay, with a surface area of 900 km, is the province's main fishing ground producing 410,000 mt(?) of fish. Carp and tilapia fingerlings are also being grown in inland ponds and freshwater fish pens. The research institutions located in Los Baos are: International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), ASEAN Center for Biodiversity (ACB) and the Southeast Asian Regional center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), among others. PAKIL- wood filigree BAY- monay Ito ay isang pagdiriwang sa San Pablo bilang pagbibigay-pugay sa kanilang patron na si St. Paul the Hermit. Ito ay ipinagdiriwang tuwing ika-15 ng Enero ng taon. Tinawag itong Coconut Festival dahil ang Coconut, o Buko, ang siyang pangunahing produkto ng nasabing bayan at ng probinsya ng Laguna. Ang Bangkero Festival ay ipinagdiriwang tuwing ikalawang linggo ng Marso, upang ipakita ang kagitingan ng mga bangkero sa kanilang lugar sa Pagsanjan. Ang mga modernong bangkero ang nagsisilbing tour guides otagapangalaga ng mga turistang dumadayo para bisitahin ang Pagsanjan Falls. Pinya ang siyang pangunahing agrikultural na produkto ng Calauan, kung saan ipinagdiriwang ang Pinya Festival tuwing ikalawang linggo ng Mayo. Nagsimulang ipagdiwang ito noong Mayo, 2003, kasabay ang pagdiriwang ng kapistahan ni San Isidro Labrador, ang kanilang patron. Kilala ang bayan ng Santa Cruz dahil sa ipinagmamalaki nitong kesong puti, na siyang gawa sa pinakasariwang gatas ng kalabaw na may kasama pang tinatawag nacoagulating agent. Abril, 2002 nang simulang ipagdiwang ang Keso Festival kasabay ang quadricentennial ng bayan bilang isang munisipalidad. Ang nasabing kapistahan ay ipinagdiriwang tuwing unang linggo ng Abril.
