1. GENERAL
1.1 INTRODUCTION
SBM has been requested to implement a number of changes into the existing FPSO
ESPIRITO SANTO located in the Shell BC-10 Development offshore Brazil which has been
in operation since year 2009. The planned development of Phase 3 includes new subsea
infrastructure as well as topsides installation which covers the development of the Massa and
O-South fields.

The BC-10 Phase 3 project has been split into several CTRs:

CTR 31
Water injection system expansion of additional 40,000 bwpd and water injection
pressure increase to 2505 psig due to Massa water injection daisy chained from
O-north
CTR 32
Convert off-spec tank to additional hot oil storage due to additional displacement
volume and longer hot oil durations
CTR 33
Expand oil treating capacity train B from 25,000 bopd to 35,000 bopd required for
Phase 3 early oil peak rates
CTR 34
CO2 mitigation plan as sales gas has exceeded the CO2 limits of the Sales Gas
Contract

1.2 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
Accuracy The degree of correctness of a quantity or expression.
Benchmark Specific coordinate locations. Benchmarks are often used in
conjunction with laser scanning for integration of laser scan data
into a larger site coordinate system. They can be permanent or
temporary.
Calibration To check, verify, or determine by comparison the relationship
between a measuring device and the standard units of measure.
CLIENT Shell.
CONTRACTOR CONTRACTOR nominated to perform the work. This definition
shall apply to CONTRACTOR appointed SUB-CONTRACTORS
that will carry out part or all the work. All SUB-CONTRACTORS
shall be subject to approval by PURCHASER. All technical terms
and conditions applicable to the CONTRACTOR shall also be
applicable to the SUB-CONTRACTOR. The CONTRACTOR shall
assume overall responsibility for the work specified herein.
Compilation Database A compilation of all registered laser scan data (point cloud data),
including all laser scans, into one master coordinate system. A
standard deliverable

CTR Cost Time and Resources

Deliverable Items to be delivered to a client by CONTRACTOR

Deviation The difference between one set of values and some fixed value.

Engineering Discipline

Term used to describe areas of specialization within the
engineering industry. Drawings or layers within model are often
broken up into individual engineering disciplines for clarity

Hot Work Permit Required to perform work on some sites with a non-intrinsically
safe instrument such as a laser scanner, total station, camera,
laptop, etc. Some sites require this permit due to the existence of
flammable fumes or liquids and the inherent danger of ignition

Information Drawings, documents, contracts, photographs, and other files not
including laser scan data (point clouds), point cloud databases, or
models

PPE Personal Protective Equipment. Hard hat, steel toe, safety
glasses, respirators, harnesses, etc.
