The Renaissance was a period of joy and enlightenment, it was called the rebirth.

The
Renaissance began in Florence, Italy. It stared around the 14
th
century and lasted till about the 17
th

century. During the Renaissance the feudal system was brought down and there was more opportunities
for peasants.so the society started to become based on merchants and commerce. During this time a
wealthy family called the medicini family ruled and controlled Florence. Some places were broken down
in to small state like areas that were commonly ruled by dukes and dutchess. Other areas were ruled by
kings or queens. The Renaissance brought new ideas for art and literature. Many new styles of drawing
and painting were created. For example paintings had perspective; it felt like you could just walk into
the painting. Most paintings were also three dimensional. During the Renaissance the church did not
have much power. Religion was not mixed with the government so it led to a decrease in power for the
church.
I Lucrezia Borgia was born on April 18, 1480 in Subiaco, Italy and died on June 24, 1519 in
Ferrara. I died at the age of 39. I lived during the Italian Renaissance. While I lived I was part of the
wealthy and royal class also known as the upper class. I was the e daughter of Rodrigo Borgia later
known as Pope Alexander VI and Vannozza Dei Cattanei.i was not raised by my father when I was young
but by my aunt Adriana DaMIla .While I was young I lived in a palace in Rome and was educated at the
convent of St. Sixtus. I was slender; I had light blue-green eyes and golden hair. Someone who
influenced me was my father. He had many political ambitions for me and I listened and followed him to
help become who I am. Someone I influenced was the painter Pinturicchio (14541513). I influenced
him with my beauty and helped him pain the Disputation of Saint Catherine.

I was important to the Renaissance because I as a part of the first criminal family. I
committed crimes and married to become a powerful political leader. But I was also a patron of the
arts. To become a powerful ruler I married three times. My first marriage was with Giovanni Sforza lord
of Pesero. At the age of thirteen my father married me off to Giovanni Sforza to establish an alliance with
the powerful Milanese family. My marriage was by proxy and for four months after I stayed in a place
next to the Vatican. After 2 years the alliance was no longer needed with my father so I tricked him into
getting a divorce. Next year when I was seventeen I was married to Alfonso of Aragon who was also
seventeen. We had a fun time together but soon my father lost favor for Alfonso and I had him strangled
by my brother. Soon before that I was awarded the governorship of Spoleto and Foligno. While my
father was gone on military purposes my father left me in charge of the church. At the age of 21 I was
the head of the entire Christian society. MY third and final marriage was to Alfonso duke of Ferranti.
Soon after I married I became a patron of the arts. I built many convents and hospitals. I was able to
write poetry in three different languages: French Italian and Spanish. I had five children and at the age of
39 died of puerperal fever. My job is more important than other people is because I had to help run a
city state with my husband, but also had to take care of the church while my father was gone all by
myself.
