has recently purchased a latest generation chamber furnace, with 24
KROM-SCHROEDER impulse burners divided into 3 self-regulated ar- eas. The management software, connected to 15 thermocouples, ena- bles direct and remote control of the temperature in the furnace and on the pieces, and provides a detailed printed report with histograms and diagrams of surfaces and bends. The furnace can also be pro- grammed to carry out heat treatments on all types of steel, especially: Stress relieving heat treatments 500 620 Tempering treatments 580 720 Normalizing treatments 900 960 QUALITY CONTROL THE NEW PLANT HEAT TREATMENTS Thanks to the well-equipped test laboratory built into its premises, OMP MONGIARDINO TECTUBI RACCORDI Bending Division is able to carry out most of the tests required by the specifcations itself, for example: All personnel carrying out non-destruc- tive testing are qualied in accordance with specications ASTN-TC-IA, EN473 and the PED directive. Dimensional control Ultrasonic test (UT) Penetrant test (PT) Magnetic test (MT) Hydraulic test NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING Since 2008 the built-in mechanical test laboratory has also been certied by a third party according to ISO 9001. O M P M ongiard ino archive OMP MONGIARDINO has an efcient quality assurance system which, with the help of customized software, enables the entire manufacturing and commercial process to be checked throughout, right from the entrance of the raw material to the delivery of the nished bends and ensures trackability and identication of the product at any moment. In addition, continuous updating of the reference documents (Quality Manual, Procedures and Operating Instructions), regular audits, internal and external training courses, the analysis of statistic indicators ensure very high quality standards and high customer satisfaction ratings. The company, which already had UNI EN ISO 9002:1994 certication from 1995, obtained UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 in February 2003. From 2010 the reference regulation in force is the ISO 9001:2008. In 2011 OMP MONGIARDINO obtained the ISO/TS 29001:2008, with third party endorsement in accordance with ISO 9001 - 29001 and the PED ASSESSMENT CERTIFICATION by Bureau Veritas Italia. QUALITY ASSURANCE To v is it o u r w e b s ite , s c a n th e Q R c o d e w ith y o u r s m a rtp h o n e Since its foundation over 40 years ago in 1968, OMP MONGIARDINO S.R.L. has operated in the me- chanical manufacturing sector, producing seamless and welded large-radius bends and clad bends, by hot induction and cold bending, for oil and gas ducts and every type of industrial or civil plant. It was the frst Italian company to manufacture large-radius bends, and over the years its high standard of produc- tion has led to it becoming one of the most experienced companies in its feld. Since November 2009 OMP has reinforced its position in the world energy market by signing a joint venture with TECTUBI RACCORDI S.p.A., part of ALLIED GROUP and world leader since 1954 in the manufacturing and dis- tribution of buttweld pipe fttings. This was the start of OMP MONGIARDINO TECTUBI RACCORDI Bending Division. Today the company has created a single, large industrial hub in Carbonara Scrivia (Alessandria, Italy), transferring there the whole manufacturing capacity from the historical Genova area. The newcompound, includingfactory andofces, has a total surface of 50,000 sqm(27,500 sqmcovered). INTRODUCTORY NOTES OMP MONGIARDINO TECTUBI RACCORDI Bending Division is the sole depositary of a registered and copy- righted industrial patent of a process for the cold bending of pipes made of carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, duplex and titanium, welded (SAW or ERW) or seamless, with diameters ranging from 2 to 60. This bending process allows for the manufacture of a wide range of products, ensuring a high standard of quality in the production of bends with radius exceeding 5D and angles up to 180, ensuring also negligible ovalisation and minimal thickness reduction. The fnished product is delivered with gauged, chamfered and bored ends, with a regular surface without imper- fections. A continuous electronic control system allows monitoring of the bend throughout the manufacturing process and a detailed report at each step of the bending process. COLD BENDING OMP MONGIARDINO TECTUBI RACCORDI Bending Division already uses two induction bending machines, model COjAFEx PB 600 and PB 1000, at its factory in Carbonara Scrivia (Alessandria) and has considerably increased its pro- duction capacity with the purchase of a new electric induction machine, SCHFER SRBMI 1400, installed in a new 3,300 sqm factory already fully working. This machine enables the company to deal even more completely with the needs of its customers, with products ranging in diameter from 2 to 56, bending radius from 400 mm to 10,000 mm and thickness from 7 mm to 100 mm. All the machines are interfaced with sophisticated computers and are provided with a global control system, which enables them to adapt autonomously to variations in load, while maintaining control over key process parameters, like temperature, in order to reduce heat losses to a minimum. This ensures that the material properties are retained even after the bending and eventual heat treatment process, in accordance with applicable specifcations.
