Save ! "Buy Smart

By the time you read this our power supply will have changed
over to our new bulk electricity supplier. This will bring you
substantial reductions in your power costs that will be
reected in your rst bill.Power costs are rising from 1.7.14,so
the changeover has come just in time.The Federal
Government is also claiming power reductions from the
abolition of the carbon tax.
I have acknowledged Noel and Franks e"orts in bringing
about this change, and it is important to recognise the
importance of volunteers in bringing about this major
transition in energy savings.
Your Committee is continuing to look at energy reduction
including the installation of LED lights in the near future.

Did you know?
The total cost of garden and
lawn maintenance,garden
makeovers,replanting,
mulching etc is about #38,000
per annum.Divided between
85 apartments it works out at
less than #450 per unit. If you
lived in a detached home, and
had the same level of
professional lawn mowing at
#50 per fortnight, it would
cost you #1,300 per year.That
wouldnt include new
plantings,garden renovations,
fertilisers etc. Bargain!

At our well attended AGM on
July 16 we ratied our new
budget with a 2.2$ reduction
in levies. Your Committee has
been vigilant in scrutiny of
costs and, given the tough
economic climate we were
delighted in this outcome.

Your Committee.
The AGM installed a Committee consisting of Lil Wylie %
Secretary,Dianne Ball%Treasurer, Louise Field,Frank
Ross,Peter Welch & new member',Colin Mildwaters, and John
Edds as Chairperson.
Our long serving Committee man David Sparks has had to
stand down due to the growth pressures of his business. David
has been the voice of reason
and calmness and his
presence will be missed.
Thanks David for your
wisdom and knowledge.

Our Gardening sub
committee is always on the
look out for people to join in
and add some input to the
appearance of the grounds.
Our lawnmower and hedging
man Glenn is doing a great
job and has taken real
ownership in his work at St Kitts to the point that the
gardening group has had most of the heavy work taken away,
and we are largely a team of planners,planters and potterers.

If you fancy imparting some of
your gardening knowledge to
the group, or learning about
plant varieties, soil types,
fertilisers etc,please give me a
call or an email, and Ill put you
in touch with the gardening
gurus.

Good neighbours
Each building and the
townhouses all have their unique
culture.There are barbecues,
house parties,Christmas in July,
holiday farewells,welcome back
parties, or just cooking a meal
for weary neighbours, there is
always a time and place for
friendly gestures. Some people
are lonely and may like an invite
to lunch or dinner.Perhaps a lift
to the supermarket may be
enough to change someones life
for the better.
Please remember to keep an eye
out for your neighbours and
keep the St Kitts spirit alive
and well.St Kitts is larger than
some rural Communities and we
all need to celebrate the diversity
and richness that it brings to our
lives.
