Places to visit in Kaohshiung

1. Formosa Boulevard Station Most beautiful station in Taiwan
Located right at the intersection of the red line and the orange line, referred to
as the R10 or O5 station in the KMRT System Map
After exiting the station, walk about 1 minute to Liuhe Night Market






2. Liuhe Night Market
Located at the heart of Kaohshiung
Exit at Formosa Boulevard Station (Take Exit 11 and you will see the night
market)
More touristy than others

3. Jin Zuan Night Market and Kaisyuan Night Market (The best in Kaoshiung)
Exit at R6 Kaisyuan MRT station ()
There will be signs guiding you to Jin Zuan Night Market and Kaisyuan NM
Access the night market via Exit 2 and take a free shuttle bus from the MRT
staion (10 minute ride)
Jin Zuan - Closes on Monday and Wednesday
Kaisyuan Closes on Tuesday and Thursday

4. Ruifeng Night Market
Exit at R14 Kaohsiung Arena MRT Station
Take exit 1
Less variety than no 3

5. Lotus Lake
Famous for its beautiful temples and pagodas
Spring Autumn Pavilions & Dragon Tiger Pagodas are located
at the southwestern of lake
Located near Zuoying Station




























6. Cijin Island (RECOMMENDED)
Take the red line MRT to Formosa Boulevard station (R10) and then transfer
to orange line MRT to Sizihwan station (01). Wait for bus transfer or you can
walk to the Gushan Ferry Pier.
Buy MRT one day pass as can use on the ferry
Look out for :-
















Seafood is cheap there, can rent bicycle (200 NTD for 8 hours)
Visit Cihou Lighthouse (Can see Kaoshiung city from the lighthouse) and
around
To travel around the island : Bicycle

7. Kaohsiung 85 Observation Deck TunTex Trade Tower
Best place to watch sunset
Purchase an entry ticket NT$100/person from ticket booth inside Chien Tai
Dept Store on the 1st storey of Kaohsiung 85 Building (Tuntex Sky Tower).
Take the lift to 75th storey and walk down the stairs to observation deck on
74th storey (74 ). Opening hrs: 0800 to 2400 hrs

8. Fo Guang Shan Monastery
Caught the 8010 bus from the Kaohsiung bus station, which is about 100
meters east of the main Kaohsiung train station. The trip took about an hour
and 10 mins and only cost $NT 91 per person.

9. Kaohsiung : Kezailiao Fish Market
Fishing market
Take MRT to Zuoying or World Games Station exit 2 then take
Red53 B or C to Kezailiao Fish Market .
The easiest way to get here is by taking the MRT and then taking Red 53. On the
weekends, all R53 buses go to but on weekdays, Red53A does not go there. T
A lot of fresh sashimi for RM15 for 10 pieces. Very fresh and cheap
