While people may think that Americas children no longer play ball
or video games in favor of clicking through the Web, the Internet
did not displace traditional entertainment, according to a new
public opinion report from a research firm in New York.
The use of the Net among children is growing, but the report says
that almost half of children ages 8 to 15 prefer to watch television
when relaxing after school, followed by radio, video games, the
telephone and even books. The Internet, meanwhile, ranked last
among leisure activities, the report found. This, however, does not
mean that children arent using the Net. They are, but as a
research tool for book reports and papers.

Hamburger or beefburger? (texto 2)
A hamburger is a bread roll with pounded beef and various
dressings. Beef is the meat from cows while ham comes from pigs.
So why is it called a hamburger if the meat is beef and not ham?
The answer is simple: in the middle of the 19th century a popular
dish in the German city of Hamburg was the Hamburg steak,
pounded beef mixed with onions and pepper. Large numbers of
Germans immigrated to the United States and took the dish with
them and the name remained.
