Nature of the Assignment/ Boo0 1evie2
The assignment will involve a book review. It will be a group based assignment in which the
students from each group will have to go through a book reading, Critically analyze the book,
derive the concepts embedded within and relate it to the theories studied in relation to Individual
dynamics and leadership.

To understand and analyze the varied pattern of human behavior
To develop the ability to draw inferences with respect to work behavior and relate it to
the concepts being studied in the course Individual Dynamics and eadership! in the
present Trimester
"ased on the above broad ob#ective the assignment should be able to cover at least the
following specific ob#ectives$
i% The critical analysis of each chapter &if written chapter wise% ' part wise in the book.
ii% Interpreting the behavioral theories from the writings.
iii% (elating theories to practical behavior.
iv% )our learning from this e*ercise.
v% +roup processes followed and peer evaluation of interpersonal skills of group members

The students will have to identify a relevant book and take approval from the faculty for the
same. The book can be selected by taking a cue from the following categories,
-utobiography or biography,

The report is to cover the topics as given below in the same se0uence$
1. Introduction and summary of the book.
2. 3tatement of 4b#ectives of the 3tudy
5. .ethod of 3tudy
6. Chapter wise summary and critical analysis.
7. Theoretical framework&s%
8. (elating theory to practical aspects of human behaviour.
9. earning and conclusion.
The assignment report should not be less than 9 pages nor should it e*ceed 1: pages for a
group. The students have to ensure that Introduction and 3ummary of the book, 3tatement of
ob#ectives and .ethod of 3tudy do not consume more than 2 pages and the ma#or portion of
the review is only for the critical theoretical framework, relationship of theory and practice,
learning and conclusion.
The report has to include proper contents page. The students will have to use Times ;ew
(oman font in 12 size with single line spacing for the paragraphs and sub<headings. The
main heading can be in 16<size font.
6eneral 6ui,eline for the Stu,ents/
The students have to submit the names of the books to the C( of the class to ensure
that no two groups review the same book. The concerned faculty would finally
approve of the same and then the students may commence with the book review.
3ubmission timeline to be strictly adhered to.
The assignment will have to be submitted in both soft and hard copies to the
respective instructors. The soft copies of the power point presentation slides to be
shared in advance with the concerned faculty member &before the day of the
presentation%.
The presentation of the book review is scheduled during 19

This e*ercise is e*pected to make the students more aware of the dynamics involved in
people management in organizations.
This e*ercise is also e*pected to give the students an opportunity to work closely with
each other &in their respective groups% and help them enhance their interpersonal skills.
