Analysing Results

Gender

The feedbacks that I have received are from female’s interest more than males
so therefore it’s not 50/50.

Age

The average ages of my audience feedback are 17 which are good because at
that age teenagers study the subject that they would need for university.

Looking at these results tell me that at the moment all my target audience are

thinking about what they would be doing in the next year work or education, s
therefore I could persuade them to continue with their education.

• It is something you can choose to into after A-levels, such a university.
• Higher education is what you do after you have finished KS4 Year 11, you
choose either to go to college or sixth form and you have the opportunity
to choose from a range of subjects of your choice.
• Higher education is very important, so that we can get appropriate
qualifications in order to get into a good career
• Higher Education takes you a step higher, and gives you more opportunity
to get a better job.
• Clever people have higher education or rich people
From these responses, I know that the audience know what Higher Education are
so therefore I do not need to spend time explaining what they are. And talk
about what are relevant for the audience to know about.

If you had the opportunity to go to university, would you? If yes or no why?

(Responses)

• yes, so be qualified as a solicitor

• If I had the opportunity to go to university then yes i would take that
opportunity because i would like to succeed in life and fulfil my dreams.
• Yes because it will give you a better chance to achieve what you really
want and allows you to gain a good job
• Yes, because it will provide me with an opportunity to develop new skills
and focus on my future career pathway.
• yes, best opportunity ever
The audience are willing to go to university because they know how important it
is for their future. So knowing this, I could move away from persuading my target
audience to go to university and how important it is I could want them of what
they will have to face and what they could do to avoid it all.

Are you interested in documentaries?

40%

Yes
No

60%
Well form these results it is good to know that majority of my audience are
interested in documentaries so won’t be hard to persuade them into watching a
documentary.

Have you ever watched a documentary? If yes, what were the topics?

• Yes I recently watched Katie: My Beautiful Face on channel 4 about a

budding model and TV presenter who unfortunately due to unfortunate
events got acid thrown in her face. The documentary was about her new
life with her new face.
• Yes, I only watch documentaries that interest me, such as: fashion,
education, climate change.
• Animals, Life experiences of people all around the world
• Based on where human hair comes from with Jamelia as the main person
involved
• Ross Kemp on Gangs
This documentary is about Ross going to certain countries to stop tribal
war
The type of documentaries that my audience have watched are not the same
topic or similar to what mine would be so therefore I would have to have
somehow make it similar with graphics or conventions that would appeal to my
target audience.

least important.

The ranking are interesting since having a presenter shows the most interest in
the target audience and music, the audience seems to want graphics and a lot of
editing than facts and figure. Knowing this shows that they want to be informed
with a presenter to make it more formal and aquatint with their interests.

How do you want the documentary to be? (Serious, facts and figures, forceful or
something else)

• A documentary should be full of information and must be useful.

• Sourceful but at the same time interesting for the viewers to watch
• I would like a series; it depends on the topic.
• I want to be fun and adaptive
• Full of Sources, music, and graphs
Looking at the responses is good because I have a variety of what appeals to my
audience some are even repeated for example like they want it to be interesting
with lots of facts and figures.

What do you think about a documentary based on Higher Education?

• I think it will be very useful as I am in my final year of school and deciding

to go into higher education
• would be good especially for people undecided whether to do it or not
• Good. Interesting
• it may be interesting
• interesting and uncommon
Knowing that the audience find the topic of my audience interesting so an
advantage and also to give me some ideas of what appeals to them is even
better. Wouldn’t be hard to interest them.

The documentary will be based on how Higher Education is hard to get,

considering the loans, grants and applicants grades. Do you like the angle I have
chosen? And why?

Yes responses:-

• Because these categories are seen as a major problem nowadays

• because it will widen our knowledge on loans etc, since people know less
about this area
• Interesting
No responses:-

• because if the applicant is determined to go onto higher education then

they should be focused and concentrated on the grades that they will
achieved at the end of the year

Only one person disagreed with my angle that I have chosen because students
should focus on their grades than financially. But in the documentary I cannot go
far with just talking about grades so therefore I would have to talk about other
topics surrounding that subject. And the topics for the angle are interesting and
relevant for them.
Would you want a presenter or voice over for the documentary?

Using both conventions would be wise since my target audience wants both the
most. And would be better when I start to produce and edit my documentary.

Through research I have found some interesting ways of making it appealing. For
example documentaries like an actual documentary or game show, facts and
figures. What will appeal for to you?

• A Documentary, but not a boring one that someone of an older age would
watch but a more "modernised" and interesting one
• facts and figures
• serious documentary
• Facts and interviews and humorous presenters[ depending on the topic]
• Something appealing to our age range such as a game show.
Since the topic is really serious and a big issue nowadays therefore I would have
to take it seriously providing the audience with a lot of facts and figures which
could answer any questions that they may have.

What do you want to know about Higher Education?

• Anything important like changes to loans or grants

• All that there is to know and that would be useful for me and to others
who watch the documentary
• Useful information about loans and accommodation, etc.
• Fees
• The Opportunities Offered After higher education
My target audience wants to know about higher education financially. From here
I could look into the situation on fees and loans that students are having, which
would be more appealing to students if they have enquires I could give them
some contacts to call or e-mail.

Impacts on my production

• The documentary will be based on facts and figures since the audience
wants to look at Higher Education on a serious side.

• My audience bases the documentary on the different conventions that I

will use making it more appealing to them.
• I will also give my audience information on who to contract if they have
any enquires since they want to know more from the questionnaire since I
can not answer all questions during the documentary.

• I will look at the downside of Higher Education such as the loans, grants
and grades needed to apply.

• Since the topic is very wide that I will cover, I will try not to make it
confusing or mislead my audience.
