GENERAL RULES FOR THE CONFIGURATION

During this phase, the PRINT button in the front of the machine will be used
to adjust the current parameter. When pushed, the parameter will be
increased.
To skip to the following parameter youll have to block the photo-electric cell in
the hole for inserting tickets, for example by inserting end removing a ticket or
by passing a finger. Then the motor wont be activated.

HISTORICAL DATA PRINTING

This is useful if the Mangia Tickets isnt connected to a computer. The machine
memorizes the number of the counted tickets in the last 60 days. To obtain the
printing of the data youll have to:
Switch off the machine
Place in OFF postion the switch n. 1
Switch on the machine
A receipt, with date and number of tickets counted that day will be
printed. At the end the general total will be printed.
Switch off the machine
Place in ON postion the switch n. 1
Switch on the machine

If you dont clear the historical data (see the related paragraph), the memory
will contain the data of the last 60 days, and the system will replace the old
data with the new ones.

Example of a receipt with
the historical data
6

CLOCK REGULATION

The clock regulation isnt necessary if the Mangia Tickets is connected to a
computer, because everytime the WinMt software is launched the internal clock
is updated. In order to to make this occur, is necessary to switch on the
Mangia Tickets before launching WinMt on the computer.
If the Mangia Tickets isnt connected to a computer:
Switch off the machine
Place in OFF postion the switch n. 2
Switch on the machine. On the display will appear: A.00. Youll have to
insert the year.
With the PRINT button, choose the correct year (for example: A.06)
Insert and remove a ticket from the hole. On the display will appear:
M.01. The parameter to adjust is the month.
Insert the number of the current month. (for example M.04 = April)
Pass to the following parameter. On the display will appear: G.01 = day
Adjust the number of the day (for example: G.17)
Pass to the following parameter, on the display will appear: H.00 = hours
Adjust the hours (for example: H.16)

LENGHT OF THE TICKETS CALIBRATION

In order to avoid counting errors if a Customer tries to cheat (by blocking the
tickets while they are being counted or by pulling them out ecc), the system
measures the lenght of the tickets and accepts them only if it is correct. The
sample lenght has to be memorized while installing the machine following
these instructions:
Turn off the machine
Place in OFF postion the switch n. 4
Turn on the machine (the display will show 0)
Insert some tickets (the display will show the correspondent number to
the sampled lenght)

(mod.ELC0504/a). Its even necessary to:

Turn off the machine
Place in ON postion the switch n. 6
Turn on the machine

FULL SACK SENSOR ACTIVATION

The Full Sack alarm blocks the machine when the number of cut tickets
reaches a too high level (full sack), preventing dangerous blockings. This
option is normally activated and must be activated. The possibility to
deactivate it is for the compatibility with the mechanics of the version 1 and in
11
case of breaking of the sensor itself. To activate and deactivate the sensor
follow these instructions:

Turn off the machine
Place in OFF postion the switches n. 1-3-4

FUNCTIONING

TICKETS COUNTING

Insert the tickets in the appropriate hole, the motor will start working and the
tickets will be dragged inside, passing through the photo-electric cells. They
will be counted and, in the end, they will be cut by the helicoidal blade. During
the counting phase the display will show the number of the distroyed tickets.
When the tickets end, the motor will stop and the light of the PRINT button will
lit up. If other tickets are inserted, they will be added to the just counted.
Once finished the tickets to count, if the Customer doesnt posess a card will
have to press the PRINT button. Otherwise, hell have to insert it in the reader
in the right position. In the first case, a receipt will be printed::
In the second case the receipt will have the same data with the notice:
MEMORANDUM ONLY and the total number of the tickets piled up by the
Curstomer. The barcode wont be printed.

13
MAINTENANCE

REPLACING THE SACK

The sack for collecting the destroyed tickets is in the lower door of the
machine, fixed to the flowing support. Pull out the support and take out the full
sack. Fix the new sack to the support and re-insert it in its place.

The content of the sack is recyclable material and has to be put in the
appropriate containers for the paper.

REPLACING THE PAPER FOR THE PRINTER

If the roll of paper is over, the display will show error n. 1. To replace it, follow
these instructions:
Open the upper door, the machine will go off (the possible counted
tickets wont be lost).
Take out the iron flat support to make the operations easier
Turn on the machine by pulling out the upper security switch (Image 5)
Move the green lever for the lifting of the printer (Image 6)
Take from the back the left paper
Move the green lever to its original position (Image 6)
Unroll about 20 cm of paper from the new roll, and make sure the edge
of the paper is perfectly cut, without borders, and the cut is
perpendicular to the papaer itself.
Insert the paper in the rear hole and wait for the printer to load and to
cut it automatically.
Place the roll in the roll-holder
Close the door

ELIMINATING PAPER BLOCKAGES

In normal conditions and with the new roll, the green and the yellow leds of
the printer must be lighted in a stable mode. If the red led is on, this means
that the roll is finishing (the printing can continue but cant if the paper isnt
enough). If the yellow led flashes, there is a misfunctioning in the printer and
in particular:
The printer is up: the lifting lever is moved towards outside (Image 6)
The paper is blocked

To eliminate a blockage follow these instructions:
Lift up the printer by moving the green lever (Fig.6)
Take the paper from the back, and then re-load it as seen in the
paragraph above
14
If the problem continues, control that there arent pieces of paper in the
way of the paper. To do this move the lower sblocking lever (Image 6)
and lift up the front part of the printer (Image 7).
Eliminate any possible piece of paper in the way
Re-block the front part of the printer
Load the paper as seen in the paragraph above

CLEANING THE DRAGGING AND CUTTING GROUP

Because of the quantity of tickets treated, the cleaning of the dragging and
cutting group should be done at least once a week.
Turn off the machine
Dismount the upper part of the dragging group (Images 1-2)
Verify that thare arent pieces of tickets in the dragging way and in the
cutting group (Image 3)
If necessary, dismount the cutting group by pulling it up (Image 4).
Clean the group and re-mount it.
Clean the surfaces of the sensors with a soft brush or a duster (Image
3). Use only methylated spirit, dont use solvents.
Re-mount the group of the sensors
Turn on the machine

SENSIBILITY REGULATION

The machine is equipped with 4 sensors, 3 for the tickets counting and one for
the sack. Every sensor has an indipendent sensibility regulation: this regulation
is done by the constructor and normally doesnt have to be modified. If there
are very hard to read tickets (with black patches in the center) there might be
the necessity to adjust the sensibility of the central sensor, the one for the
counting. If the reading is difficult the machine is frequently in alarm and the
counting is incorrect. Follow these instructions:
Deactivate the control of the lenght of the tickets (switch n.8 in OFF
position)
Adjust the trimmer in the group of the sensors (Fig.2) by turning it and
by inserting a known number of tickets
When there arent counting errors, the calibration is done. Reactivate the
control of the lenght and, if necessary, do again the calibration of the
lenght itself as explained in the related paragraph.
