discourse on !other+s three rare characteristics of forbearance" compassion and
sacri1ce" and #r 2andita 2hattacharya dilated on ister *i&edita+s succinct
obser&ation about !other: +0er life was one life stillness of prayer.+ 3ollowin- a son-
by the s annyas inis of arada !ath" %ra&ra'i$a atchitprana spo$e in 0indi of

The meetin- ad'ourned for lunch after %ra&ra'i$a (malaprana+s presidential address
and a closin- son-. wami )o$ulananda chaired the se&enth session that
commenced at 3:00 pm with ,edic chantin- by the s annyas ins of 2elur !ath. !s.

!ath and !ission presented the &ote of than$s. The closin- son- by wami
%urushottamananda lifted the de&otees+ minds. The cultural pro-ramme after ri
/ama$rishna+s arati was on +!aha /as+. The *i$un'a 2ihari /aslila !andal enacted
the .rishna9/adha scenes of ,rinda&an with music and dance. Thus ended the
celebrations. The apprehension that too many lectures mi-ht tire the dele-ates was
clearly unfounded. #ele-ates were all well -rounded in the /ama$rishna9arada9
,i&e$ananda literature and this is what helped" besides the hi-h :uality of the
discourses. 5ach spea$er was &astly experienced and each discourse appeared
better than the precedin- one. #e&otional son-s helped enli&en the tal$s and
speeches; as did the tea and snac$s< #e&otees ha&e a caste of their own said ri
/ama$rishna and this was apparent in a ma-ni1ed form durin- these three days. *o
one was a stran-er. The de&otees introduced themsel&es to each other and tal$ed
about their lo&e for 0oly !other. 5&en the lon- wait in :ueues for lunch and dinner
could not dampen the spirit of the de&otees. The sessions in the mornin- were open
only to dele-ates but the -ates were open durin- the e&enin- sessions and the
cultural pro-rammes for one and all. =hairs were pro&ided for e&eryone and the
eastern lawn of the temple was li$e a sea of heads. The entire e&ent testi1ed to
!other+s all9embracin- lo&e and also her -reat power of attractin- people of all
$inds. =learly" the future belon-s to !other. > ho really is !other enterin- into
e&ery heart? @n the words of ri /ama$rishna: +he is arada" araswatiA she has
come to impart $nowled-e. he is the bestower of $nowled-eA she is full of the
rarest wisdom. @s she of the common run? he is my ha$ti.+
