My personal philosophy is that all children should be able to learn.
Learning is an active process. The purpose of teaching (of education) is to
assist learning. It is described by how we process our environment socially and emotionally. We learn by understanding facts, social customs, eperiences, and relationships. The more enriched a person!s environment, starting at birth, the more educated that person becomes. I believe that learning through play helps foster childrens development socially, emotionally, cognately, and physically. "laying is one of the main ways young children learn. "lay is a good way to #eep children interested. They will learn without even reali$ing it. In most childcare centers, play is focused on children%s motor s#ills, helping them to be more precise with tools such as scissors and pencils. Movement games such as dance and running around help them to improve their coordination, balance, and confidence when moving. &inging songs with children is another way to get them to learn' they learn simple words and (ingles that help them remember things (such as the tidy up song or the alphabet song). I believe that early learning and childcare help young children learn new things and develop. )hildren begin learning when they are first born. They learn to see, eat, smell, sleep, and wal#. *y sending children to a childcare center, I believe that they will better enhance their s#ills and learn something new every day. +or eample, they might learn, Literacy s#ills, such as ma#ing a map or a plan as a group. "roblem-solving s#ills, such as answering .uestions li#e these, If we use big shovels, will we damage or move the dinosaur bones/ What would happen if we used small shovels and brushes instead/ 0umeracy s#ills, such as counting all the dinosaur bones that have been collected. +ine and gross motor s#ills, such as those involved in digging, drawing, writing, etc. &ocial and communication s#ills, such as wor#ing cooperatively together. +urther literacy and research s#ills, such as loo#ing through boo#s to match the dinosaur bones to the correct dinosaur, etc. I believe a responsive and inclusive environment is one that involves all childrens needs by providing experiences that children can respond to. Many studies show how important the environment is and how it contributes to a child%s development. 1aving a well set up environment will benefit a child in many areas of his or her cognitive, language, social, emotional, and physical development. When you understand how children learn in their environment, you can understand what you need to have in place so that you can epand their opportunities to learn.
I believe my role as an educator is to impact children, families, and the community in a positive manner with proper teaching. For families, educators should be open and communicate positively with them about their child. It is important for the community to be proud of the work educators do for the children. 2ood teachers can really impact a child!s life, especially when they leave a positive and lasting impression. Many students remember a certain teacher for a very long time, for better or for worse.
"arents are very pleased with teachers who have a positive and open communication system. "arents remember teachers (ust li#e students do. In the community, people will love teachers if they are active and believe in a good education for every child. This shows the community that it can trust the teacher, because of how he or she interacts with the students. I believe that health and safety are very important when working with children. 3veryone who wor#s in the field with children should have the proper training to #eep them safe. 3very childcare centre should train all staff in first aid and )"4, have policy documents in place, and send staff to seminars regarding health and safety and food hygiene. It is important to #now procedures li#e diapering, hand washing, and following a schedule for cleaning and saniti$ing. My role is to ma#e sure that I follow these rules to #eep the children and myself safe from harm.
