Shoe Box Ministry a Success

Although our annual “shoe box” ministry is
a total church effort, there are a few dedicated
servants who make it a joy to participate; Mike &
Mary Tesser and Larry & Nancy Jones. Mary has
coordinated the shoebox project since 2000. With
the help of her husband Mike as well as “shoebox
wrappers” Larry and Nancy and of course YOU…
First Federated has donated 4,045 boxes over the past 10 years.
Thank you, Mary, for your enthusiastic leadership in this proj-
ect… also to Mike, Larry, Nancy and the entire church family
for your faith work and participation. Below you can see how this
ministry has grown over the years.

Children’s Ministry staff. Our children’s programs provide qual-

ity care and learning for kids of all ages.
If your child has not already been enrolled in our Children’s
Ministry, a quick visit to the Children’s Ministry Registration
Station will provide you with temporary security tags and give us
the information we need to effectively minister to your child.
Infants & Preschool Children
Childcare and teaching are available during the 9:10 and 10:45 hour in the Nursery
and Preschool Departments.
Kindergarten–4th Grade
During the 9:10 hour, K–4th graders gather in the gym and then go to graded
classroom groups for Bible learning and fun.
K–4th graders attend their own age-appropriate children’s church, called KZ
Church, in room 152 at 10:45.
Xtreme AM (5th & 6th Grade)
Our preteens meet in their own Xtreme spot, Room 205, at 9:10 for a time of Xtreme
learning, Xtreme prayer and Xtreme relationship-building.
Youth (Grade 7–12) & Adults
Groups for ADULTS begin at 9:10AM and 10:45AM. Stop by the Welcome
Center (or see inside today’s newspaper) to find out about each of the groups and
how to get there.
Our YOUTH (Grade 7–12) meet at 9:10AM in the Backdoor (148).
Cellular Phones & Pagers
Thank you for turning off or muting your cell phone, pager and other electronic
devices during this morning’s worship service.
Assistive Listening Devices (Auditorium Only)
ALS devices are available for check-out at the Resource Center in the foyer.
AED (Automated External Defibrillator)/First-aid
Facilities for guests needing first aid, health counseling, and blood
pressure checks are provided by our Parish Nurses located in the

 MISSION ONE Reaching others for Jesus Christ

Mission Board: TEAM
Location: WS/Papua, Indonesia
What do they do? Leaving for
Dutch New Guinea in 1956, they
opened the Hatam tribal minis-
try interior, building an airstrip
at Minyambou, reducing the
language to writing and teaching
simple Bible stories to primitive
people bound in superstition. God’s Sprit moved December
1962 in what is called a fetish movement. The joy of the
Gospel spread along family lines and whole villages trusted
Christ, with great desire to learn God’s Word and to be able
to read it themselves. Dick’s main work has been translation,
while Char’s has been Hatam literacy—writing books, train-
ing teachers and providing Bible training for women.
Praises
• The 15,000 Hatam Bibles have reached the Hatam believers
in Papua. The Bibles are being distributed. The churches
kept the boxes unopened until they could have an official
praise service of thanksgiving. The first name on the list was
a boy about 10 years old, with a number of children receiv-
ing the Bibles.
Prayer Requests
• For Dick’s health needs.
• For the Bible sales to go smoothly.
• For believers to use their Bibles correctly for deeper study,
not an ornament in their home or a good-luck charm.
Vic & Gwen
Location: Asia/USA
What do they do? Vic and Gwen provide biblical training for
Christians serving across cultures. They serve multiple
agencies and organizations through workshop coordination,
coaching and mentoring. They focus on working with emerg-
ing Asian organizations and facilitators as well as supporting
established North American partner organizations working
in the region. Due to the high cost of living overseas they
have moved to the US where they continue their ministry.
Praises
• Vic and Gwen recently relocated to Nebraska.
Prayer Requests
• For organizing all necessary details for their ministry trip
overseas in mid January.
• For no hold ups or disappointments in getting visas during
this holiday season.
• For son Nic as he joins his parents in Nebraska next month
to help set up their new place and manage the “homestead”
when they travel for ministry.

Boaz & Ruth
Location: Europe
What do they do? Boaz and Ruth were born of Muslim fami-
lies in North Africa. They were brought to faith in Christ
through missionaries there. Boaz previously served as a
radio producer, presenting programs in Arabic. Today com-
munication technology has changed to satellite television,
local FM radio and internet. Boaz now serves at the Bible
Correspondence Course Department and Ruth answers ques-
tions arriving at their website and forum. Together they visit
their homeland to contact Muslim seekers.
Prayer Requests
• Wisdom, understanding and strength for Boaz as he writes
and records 365 daily audio devotions for a website in his
native language.
• Receptive hearts for the people tuning into these online
audio lessons each day to hear teachings from the Word of
God.
• For God’s protection of believers.
• Courage for believers to share Christ in a land where the of-
fence is punishable by law.
• For the discipleship of believers.

Wausau, WI for our annual Senior Ski Trip. Join Howie and Julie
for a weekend of skiing, snowboarding and an amazing Bible
study aimed to take your relationship with Jesus to the next level.
We will leave at 6am on Dec. 28. If you are an adult and would
like to scholarship a teen who would otherwise not be able to

FFC Ensemble Group CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Christmas Performances

The FFC Ensemble Group has combined with musicians from Sunday Morning KZ Church
the Iowa Health Ensemble to create a twelve member music Today in KZ Church we learned about
ensemble. For the most part, we will be performing in quartets God’s very special creation—man! God
or trios. After weeks of practice we are now beginning to go made man out of the dust of the earth and He
out and perform this music at many different venues between breathed life into him. Then He made woman,
Saturday, Nov 28th and Christmas day. We have lined up 18 too. The Bible says we are made in God’s own
different events at which we will be performing and some of image. Wow, that is an amazing thought! God
