News Clarification

Rio de Janeiro, July 21, 2014 ENEVA S.A. (ENEVA or Company) (BM&FBOVESPA: ENEV3,
GDR I: ENEVY), in compliance with article 157, paragraph 4 of Brazilian Law No. 6.404/76 and
CVM Rule 358/02, and considering recently published news, hereby clarifies that has been
working with Parnaba Gs Natural S.A. (PGN) to manage gas production in the Parnaba
Generation Complex (Complex) to the current high thermoelectric dispatch scenario in Brazil.

ENEVA and PGN are working to adjust the load of the Complex units in order to optimize
current and future production within the life cycle of the gas fields. This involves, among other
measures, managing existing wells, drilling additional ones and accelerating production at
other discovered fields which are approved for commercial operation.

Additionally, the Company has kept the market informed of the delay in the start-up of
Parnaba II CCGT (Parnaba II), a matter, amongst others, being discussed with Aneel
Brazils National Electric Energy Agency, as communicated to the market on June 18, 2014.
ENEVA will disclose the final terms and conditions of the Parnaba II negotiation as soon as it is
finalized with ANEEL, given that the process is confidential until conclusion.
