Abstract
&ith the advent of technolog" the $orld has 'een shrinking ever da and the glo'al
language" English has gained recognition as an essential mode of communication not onl among
English speaking nations 'ut also in the nations as second language and foreign language. The
gro$ing importance of the language is o'vious due to the increase of merchandi(ing among the
nations and the companies) feat to reach the customers $orld$ide. So the scope of language is
getting $ider* and the learners and the teachers of language have to 'e a$are of tools availa'le for
the language learning in the age of c'er $orld $hich offers tremendous sources to utili(e like
interactive learning $e'sites* 'logs" forums for discussion* podcasts offering audio and visual aids*
online apps* do$nloada'le applications for ta'let computers and mo'iles* and pages in social
net$orking $e'sites. +ut in a countr like India" these technological advancements have not
reached the rural students for $hom succeeding in a #o' intervie$ is still a tougher nut to crack.
The paper aims at giving an insight into the language pedagog $ith the aid of technolog
in Indian scenario $here English is termed as second and third language though English holds
much stronger part in professional and regular life. The rapid development of information
technolog has offered varied chances to engage the students $ith a 'etter teaching model. So the
discussion also includes the strategies for effective student,centered teaching and the role of
students in language learning.

English achieved" ears ago" the status of glo'al language is no$ the determining factor in
several fields like education" trade" media etc. Though ma#orit of the people prefer to use their
regional languages as medium of communication" English language is the target language to learn
for specific purposes. The latest statistics tell us that these das around eight per cent of spoken
English is spoken 'et$een non native English speakers. Ever parent is particular a'out his-her
child 'eing admitted in a good school that improves their communication skills. A good
communicator in English is considered intelligent ' a tpical Indian citi(en and holds a respectful
position in the societ. .o$ learning English is ever one)s concern $hich is reflected in the
multipling num'er of spoken English institutes across the nation.
In Indian conte/t language is learned as second language in most of the regions and even as
first language in places like Goa. Second language learners $ho are $ell,versed in the first
language or at vernacular languages have to $ork hard to 'e good at the target language. In the
schooling" the are made to $rite" read" speak and listen to the language contrar to native
speakers. +ut $hen the reach to professional courses the fail at the 'asic communication $hile

scenario demands for communicative competence. In order to meet the gro$ing concerns of the
