There are such an abundant amount of websites dedicated to education. Below are
websites that I have researched and feel, as though, I will refer to and take
advantage of all they have to offer on a regular basis.

Five software utilities sites:

**AVG Anti-Virus 8.5-http://static.avg.com

This site provides a free download of AVG Anti-Virus 8.5 which protects as you surf,
chat, and shop online, in addition to robust anti-virus coverage.

**Discovery Education’s Puzzle Maker-http://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com

With this site, one can create anything from word searches, math puzzles,
cryptograms, and much more.

**Automation Software-http://download.cnet.com/automation-software/?

This software includes programs that allow users to create system processes, or
macros, that can automatically complete tasks or jobs on their computer. Programs
monitor existing data from multiple sources, schedule reminders, convert file
batches, or enable other forms of automation.

**Teach-ade/The online community for teachers.-

Teach-ade offers a forum for teachers to discuss various educational topics, as well
as, offering teachers’ resources for curriculums with professional development
material. A great site which keeps one connected with other educators.

**The Educator’s Network-http://www.theeducatornetwork.com

This site offers everything from lesson plans to worksheets and fundraising ideas. A
great avenue for keeping up with the world of education.

This particular site offers lesson plans, power points, quizzes, games, worksheets,
and puzzles that are specific to the teaching of reading and writing to 4th grade
students.

This site offers specific lessons plans with basic math skills and concepts. It
provides unlimited interactive practice, games and much more.

**4th grade Social Studies Technology Integration-

This web site offers lesson plans, tests, games, and practice for the 4th grade
curriculum of Social Studies.

This site offers lesson plans, games, and web quests for all subjects taught in the
fourth grade—math, language arts, social studies, and science.

This site provides many different activities and printable worksheets for students in
the 4th grade to practice and learn the subject of science.

**Operation Immigration-

This web quest takes one on a journey from different countries to America. You
learn all about the country, as well as, learning all about the many hardships they
faced travelling to the “new” land.

**Kentucky Brochure Web quest-

This offers a fun and creative way of designing a brochure. Children research and
learn different facts and information about their state, all while learning reading and
writing skills.

This web quest teaches you all about the myths of the moon and how and where
those myths were originated. So students learn the real facts of the moon all while
exploring ancient cultures and times.

**Animals of the Rainforest-http://www.mmooney49.1hwy.com


This fantasy web quest assigns the character of Rainforest Animal Expert to the
students. Their task is to convince companies, that want to use the land to make
money, that the Rainforest needs to be saved! They learn all about the plants and
animals that inhabit this forest while creating a written report, a visual, and an oral
presentation to state their case.

**Kid’s Court: Finding Justice in Fairytales-

Students explore the “bad bullies,” in fairy tales, and then the kids take them to
court with the classmates as the jury. It teaches them the “laws” of society while
learning about the judicial system.

This site is designed with interactive technology which includes web quests, power
point presentations, games, and lesson plans for the K-12 arena. It offers a science,
math, language arts, and social studies curriculum. This will be a viable tool to help
plan new and innovative lesson plans all while incorporating technology effectively.

This actually is a site that offers one over 400 different sites that educators may
want to check out based on their particular needs in the classroom. These sites
offer lesson plans, interactive games, worksheets, etc. This is a wonderful and easy
way to see the most popular sites that the educators out there are already using.

**Education World-http://www.education-world.com

This, too, offers a plethora of information for the educator and a great tool for
incorporating technology in the classroom curriculum as well! This site is organized
terrifically; it is very user friendly! This will be a site that I can see myself using all
the time!

**Funbrain-http://www.funbrain.com

This is a fun and creative site offering many new and innovative games for kids of
all ages. You can increase your skills in math, science, grammar, and spelling. A
tool I will incorporate in my fourth grade curriculum.

**Classroom Management for Teachers-

No list would be complete without a site that could help you in correcting and
nurturing the right behaviors in the classroom. This site gives you great tips on
controlling classroom behavior, as well as, giving the teacher tips on how to
effectively manage their time and curriculum in the classroom. This may very well
be a lifesaver for me!

Wow, I was amazed at all the resources and tools that the internet has to offer when
it comes to the world of education. This was, not only a big eye opener, but it really
gave me a better sense of where to go when planning creative and effective lesson
plans. It will help me provide a curriculum which will be enriched vastly with the
integration of technology.
