In this special panel discussion, the Lowy Institute will bring together a range of experts to consider the wider implications of the shooting down of MH17. Issues to be discussed include possible strategic and geopolitical consequences, ramifications for global order or disorder, the consular dimension, international legal aspects and Australias role. The panel will include Russia expert Dr Matthew Sussex, head of Politics and International Relations at the University of Tasmania, Lowy Institute International Security Program Director Rory Medcalf and Lowy Institute Research Fellow Alex Oliver.
