Round One: Cats Got Your Tongue
Description:
This activity is a series of task to be completed without talking. Participants must use
non-verbal communication to complete each task in a timely manner.
Mechanics:
a. The Rules:

1. The game is open for all the 120 students coming from the Grade 6 and Grade
7 classes.
2. There would be two hosts for this game.
3. The hosts will be the one to read the instructions to be followed by the
students.
4. Facilitators should always be around the area to assist the students through the
duration of the game.
5. The 120 students will be grouped into 10; having 12 students per group.

b. The Game:
1. Without any talking, each group must complete the tasks given.
2. The first team to complete a task will be given one point.
3. The team with the most points at the end is the winning team.
4. The host will instruct the different teams to do each task and declaring the
winning group before announcing the next task.
5. The following are the tasks to be accomplished by the students:
a) Line up by the length of the hair.
b) Line up by height
c) Each team will be given letters of the word wonderful, they are
going to arrange the letters to create the word, each member
should hold one letter and the other members will instruct.
d) Each member will be given words and they will arrange it
alphabetically (for example, apple, ben, clock, dog, evening)
e) Each group will create a word using the following letter:
a, c, e, t, b, r, o, d, m, p
Round Two: TONGUE TWISTER MASTERS!
Description:
Tongue twisters are not only for light-hearted linguistic fun and games, but they also
serve a practical purpose in practicing pronunciation. English tongue twisters may be used by
foreign students of English to improve their accent and other speaking skills. This activity
therefore calls for both listening and speaking skills.
Mechanics:
The Rules:
1. The game is open for all the 120 students coming from the Grade 6 and Grade
7 classes.
2. There would be two hosts for this game.
3. The 120 students will be grouped into 10; having 12 students per group.
4. There would also be 10 facilitators in this game. Each group will be assigned
one facilitator to help them carry out the task successfully.
5. Three judges will be present during the presentation part of the game.
6. The best group will be declared winners.
The Game:
1. Every group must first decide on a group name.
2. They must form a circle that would consist all the group members and must
stay together until the presentation time.
3. The facilitator of each group will then present the tongue twister that is
assigned to them.
4. After practicing the tongue twister for 10 minutes, they will now be called to
the stage to present their piece.
5. Each group will be given 5 minutes to present the tongue twister. They will be
asked to read in a normal pace, to a faster pace, and their fastest pace.
6. After all the groups have presented their respective tongue twisters, the judges
will then declare the best group performances.
7. The Champions will be called the Tongue Twister Masters.
8. There will also be recognitions given to the 1
st
, 2
nd
, and 3
rd
runners up.
Round Three: VERSE CHOIR COMEPETITION
Description:
A verse choir is an art of group oral interpretation wherein a group of people are
experiencing together and expressing thoughts and feelings for the purpose of
communicating with each other. With this activity, students may learn more the power of
words and the correct way of reading it with the group. Aside from that, the students can
develop unity as having fun as well. Initially this will help them improve their speaking skills in
front of a public crowd.

1. The game is open for all the 120 students coming from the Grade 6 and Grade
7 classes.
2. There would be two hosts for this game.
3. The 120 students will be grouped into 10; having 12 students per group.
4. There would also be 10 facilitators in this game. Each group will be assigned
one facilitator to help them carry out the task successfully.

7. The Champions will be called the Verse Choir Champs.
8. There will also be recognitions given to the 1
