The one whose body hue is like the colour of the rising sun, who crossed the ocean and
dispelled the grief of Shri Jankiji (a title of Sita, the daughter of Janaka), whose hands
are long enough to reach the knee(sign of great warriors), the one with an intimidating
face, who seems the eventual destiny of kaal (time of death) itself.
Tulsidasji says that by attending to the needs of Pawan Kumar (a title of Hanumanji, the
son of wind), the one who defiantly torched the dense forest of Lanka which was not
worth burning, who has slanting eyebrows and shatters the proud arrogance of powerful
demons, the god becomes easily accessible, always staying close to be good to those
who serve him. And he annihilates terrifying disasters when we sing his glories,
propitiate him, meditate upon him and chant his name.

The one whose physique is like SuMeru, the sacred mountain made of gold, who is
eternally brilliant like crores of midday suns, is magnanimous, has extremely strong
arms, is endowed with a body and nails which can be equated to the hardness of a
diamond. His eyes are yellow whereas the eyebrows, tongue, teeth and face are
dreadful, hair are brown in colour, the tail is unrelenting and destroys the force of the
wicked.

Tulsidasji says that grief and sins do not dare to pester a person even in his dreams if
the fearsome form of Hanumanji resides in his heart.

The warrior who is capable of surpassing Lord Shiva,Kartikeya, Parshuram, demons and
gods in daring feats on the battlefield. Bards of the Vedas acclaim you to be a shrewd
soldier who keeps his promise and is highly famed plus honoured. The tale of whose
virtues were extolled by the divine Shri Raghunathji himself. Whose valiant deeds dried
up the world and ocean filled with surging waves
Who else can annihilate the demons' chaos except the Lord of Tulsi who is the
handsome Rajput (Pawan Kumar, equipped with martial prowess)? (Nobody)

Hanumanji went to the Sun God to acquire education. Assuming it to be a childish prank,
the God made an excuse (that I can not stand still at one place and it is impossible to
study without facing each other). Walking backwards, Hanumanji delightedly circulated in
the sky like a child with his face towards the sun. And with this act there was no sort of
confusion in the sequence of his education.
Seeing this miraculous feat, the eyes of Indra, other deities, Vishnu, Rudra and Brahma
were dazzled and they stood in awe. Tulsidasji says all of them wondered at
Hanumanji's body made up of the very essence of awesome power, heroic
sentiment,steadfastness and courage.
Shri Hanuman Bahuk; 5th Verse

Kapiraj (lord of the monkeys), Hanumanji, posited himself in the flag on Arjuna's chariot
and roared, hearing which Duryodhana's army was terrified, in the Mahabharata.
Dronacharya and Bheesham Pitamah confirmed that this is the very powerful Pawan
Kumar (the son of wind god), whose strength has been the water of the heroic ocean.
His instinctive jump from the earth to the sun made the vault of the sky appear less than
a step away, just like child's play. All the valiant heroes bow their heads and adulate him
with folded hands. Having darshan or sighting Hanumanji in this fashion they have got
the fruition of living in this world.
Hanuman Bahuk: verse 6

Making the ocean seem like a cow's hoof, the one who fearlessly burnt the well-guarded
city of Lanka like Holika, leading to panic in the city of the foreigners (enemies). The one
who playfully uprooted the heavy mountain Dron and lifted it like a ball.Soon enough it
became a plaything for amusing that Kapiraj (lord of the monkeys) like a fruit of the
wood-apple tree (bel).
During the reign of Lord Rama) uncertainty surfaced due to dire difficulties(Laxman
shakti). The task which was to be accomplished in several eras came under their control
in seconds(by his valiant deeds during that time). The Lord of Tulsi is very courageous
and powerful, whose arms were used for supporting deities and were instrumental in
settling them once again.

Hollows made on the tortoise's back (Hindu mythology endorses that the earth is
supported on the back of a tortoise) with Hanumanji's feet became receptacles for
storing the ocean's water. While destroying evil forces that very ocean became a
stronghold where the demons fled and hid.
Tulsidasji says that the one whose raging valour became fire for burning the fuel of
Ravan, Kumbhkaran and Meghnadh. Bheesham Pitamah affirms, In my opinion there
was no one as extremely powerful as Hanumanji in all the three worlds (cosmological
regions) and ages (satva, treta and dvapara.)

You are the envoy of King Ramchandraji, the perfectly capable son of the Wind God,
giving joy to Anjani Devi, brilliantly energetic like innumerable suns, the one who
alleviates Sitaji's sorrow, the destroyer of sins and vices, protecting those who seek
refuge and dear to Lakshmanji like his very life.
To put an end to Tulsidasji's Ravana of unbearable wretchedness you incarnated in the
three lokas (cosmological regions) as shelter. I say people! You must make a clever Lord
like the knowledgeable, virtuous, mighty Hanumanji who is alert in attending to our
needs (giving respite to others) dwell in your hearts.
Shri Hanuman Bahuk: 9th Verse

The one who is renowned the world over for his valiant deeds which destroyed the
troops of demons. The Vedas sing his glories that who else except Pavan Kumar (the
son of the Wind God) could release the deities from prison? You are expert in reducing
the frost of dark sins and suffering, and are very much like the early morning sun in
pleasing the lotus like devotee.Tulsi's heart implicitly trusts Hanumanji and he does not
worry about the mundane world or the next world even in his dreams, being free from
grief.
The name of the son of Kesari who is the darling of Ramchandraji and the living
presence of Shiva (one of the eleven Rudras) is like the kalpavriksha (one of the
fabulous trees of Krishna's paradise that grants all desires) in the yuga of kali (name of
the last and worst of the four ages, at the end of which the world is to be destroyed).
Shri Hanuman Bahuk: 10th Verse

You have reached the pinnacle of valour, are intensely fearsome, very courageous and
the greatly powerful renowned warrior chosen by Raghunathji. Having a body as hard as
a diamond when Hanumanji makes use of his might, pandemonium breaks loose on the
battlefield.Willingly he acts with loving tenderness and steadfastness at every place. For
the wicked he is as terrifying as kaal ( Yama, the god of death)
and is a protector of the virtuous, who alleviates the sorrow of Tulsi when we do smarana
or contemplate upon him. Pavan Kumar is the giver of joy to Sitaji, the darling of
Raghunathji and he is very daring (bold) in helping sevakas or devotees.
Shri Hanuman Bahuk: 11th Verse

You are like Brahma for creating the universe, Vishnu for preserving the world, Rudra (a
title of Shiva) for dissolution of the world and ambrosia for conferring immortality; the
earth for carrying us, the sun in getting rid of darkness, the fire for drying up, the moon
and sun for nurturing us; unleashing misery on the wicked and disgracing them,
satisfying sevakas or devotees and the bestower of delight for utterly destroying the dirt
of demands.
The svami or Lord of Tulsi, Shri Hanumanji has been true to his promise of alleviating
grief of the downtrodden, in the three lokas.
Hanuman Bahuk: 12th Verse
Sevak syokaee jaani jaankees maanai kaani,

Understanding the service of his devotee Hanumanji, Jankinath (a title of Rama the
husband of Janki) was embarassed or highly obliged in other words, Shivji and Indra, the
lord of the heavens, pay obeisance to him. Gods-goddesses and demons become the
recipients of his mercy and fold their hands, then what standing do kings and the other
wretchedly poor who suffer have.
Which doctrine has the ability to bring harm to (Pavan Kumar's) devotee, when he is
awake, sleeping, sitting, wandering, sporting or absorbed in joy? Whoever has faith in
calling out to Anjani Kumar, all his days will pass in an excellent manner wherever he
may be.
Hanuman Bahuk: 13th Verse
Saanug sagauri saanukool soolpani taahi,

Lord Shankar, Parvatiji, their devotees, deities presiding over the lokas, Shri
Ramchandraji, Janki and Lakshmanji are all pleased with the person whose heart joyfully
calls out to Hanumanji. Tulsidasji says thereafter how can a grieved person long to seek
the refuge of any other warrior in the three lokas or worlds?
On pleasing the compassionate son of Kesri, the clear-hearted Hanumanji, all great
sages have mercy on that devotee and bring him up like a child. So pure is the glory of
that supremely compassionate, Kapiraj (a title of Hanumanji.

You are the trove of mercy, the abode of intelligence-power, the shrine of bliss, and the
temple of virtues-knowledge; loved by Raja Ramchandra, you are the incarnate form of
Shankarji, and by chanting your name we are granted meaning, religion, work and
salvation. Oh Hanumanji! You are learned in Shri Raghunathji's virtuous nature, the
world's conventional norms and rules of the Vedas because of your energy!
Tulsi is your slave in all three perspectives of mind, word and action and you are the
clever master. Or in other words know everything which is happening outside and within
us.
Hanuman Bahuk: 15th Verse
Manko agam, tan sugam kiye kapees,

Oh Kapiraaj! Maharaj Ramchandraji's task which was not mentally feasible for the entire
armed troops, arrayed in finery, you accomplished that feat with the body and made it
easily accessible. Oh KesriKishor (son of Kesri)! You are the one who freed the gods
from prison, created an uproar in the battlefield, and since ages your fame is renowned
the world over.
Oh valiant warrior ! Why did your power reduce for Tulsi, hearing of which the ascetics
are embarrassed and the wicked are rejoicing. Oh Anjani Kumar (son of Anjani)! Set
right my pitiable agony in the same way as it had improved earlier when you are pleased.

Oh Hanumanji ! You are the paragon of knowledge and you forever dwell in the minds of
sevakas or devotees. In which manner do I spoil anyone's matters. Why are you
displeased when I am at your service. Oh Svami! You have dismissed me from the bond
of a devotee, and Tulsi has no say in this matter. Even if the mind has lost in winning you
over, tell me my fault so that I can be careful in the future.

Oh king of the moneys! Even Lord Shankar can not ruin the person you have settled.
And who can set up a household which you have doomed? Oh Lord, kind to the poor!
The ones you are pleased with, dwell as pain in the hearts of enemies.

Tulsidasji affirms that by taking your name, all adversities and concerns are torn to
shreds like a spider's web. Balihari ! (the affectionate one)! Have you grown old during
my plight or else are you fatigued because of looking after so many poverty-stricken
people? (Therefore you are lax in getting rid of my agony.)

After crossing the ocean and utterly destroying huge evil demons, and burning a
fearsome stronghold like Lanka.Oh the lion of battle in the jungle! The demons our
enemies seemed like the adorned young of an elephant, and you vanquished them like a
lion.

It is shocking that Tulsi has to bear the fire of offence and sorrow while attending to the
needs of a Lord as powerful and virtuous like you. Oh hawk in the form of a monkey!
Several birds of wicked men have increased in number, why don't you entangle them like
a quail?

Oh Hanumanji, the slayer of Akshay Kumar ! You created havoc and destroyed the
Ashok Vatika. And did not even look at the awesome energy of a brilliant warrior like
Ravana or were least bothered about him.You are a lion in the prime of his youth, in
crushing the frenzy of elephants like Meghnath, Akampan and Kumbhkaran.

The valour of Lord Rama acts like fire for a stack of the opposition's straws and Pavan
Kumar (title of Hanuman, son of the wind god) works like the wind. The very same son of
the Wind God is going to rescue Tulsidas from sins, curses and suffering, all three of
them, forever.

Oh Hanumanji ! I implore devotedly that you must not forget your promise. Consider
what the world knows that the person who is a recipient of your grace is free from
distress and always delighted. Oh Svami Kapiraj ! Was Tulsi worth being your sevak
(attending to your needs) once ? What mistake has he made, please take control of your
lordliness.
If you consider me at fault make me miserable in thousands of ways, but do not kill a
person by poison if he can die by giving him laddus (a sweet consisting of balls of gram
flour). Oh Mahabali (a title of Hanumanji, very powerful), courageous darling of the wind,
and dear to Raghunathji! Quickly get rid of the pain in my arms.

Oh Deenbandhu (friend of the poor)!I devotedly implore that since you made this boy
Tulsi your own in boyhood itself, were uniquely merciful and not illusory on seeing him.
Just consider him to be your slave, having implicit trust in you, your might and relying on
you.Who has not been disturbed by the extremely terrifying kali yuga or age? Be kind
enough to remove the foot of this powerful force trampling my forehead as well.Oh son
of Kesri, the valiant hero! Because of you pandemonium breaks loose in battle.
Dash down the pain hurting my arms like the lioness who is the mother of Rahu (name of
a demon supposed to seize the sun and moon in his mouth and so cause eclipses) and

that power of yours. Oh envoy of Rama! You are like the kalpavriksha (a tree that grants
all desires) for the sevakas or devotees of Ramchandra. The wretched and weak like me
totally rely on you. Oh valiant one! Even with a powerful svami like you being
resplendent on Tulsi's forehead, he is bound and thrashed.
I entreat that since my arms are like a huge pond and this pain is similar to an
amphibious animal living in it, you catch hold of this amphibian and tear open its mouth

By the grace of Ram-Laxman and Jankiji I have affection and religious devotion for
Ramchandraji along with boldness (for firmly facing hardships), therefore get rid of my
critical grief. The monkey of delight has been defeated mentally on seeing the infinite
ocean of ailments,
whereas the Jambvant (the king of bears who was oldest of the soldiers in Rama's army
and his counsellor as well.) of living beings has implicit trust in you.Oh merciful one!
Jump from the mountain of Tulsi's loving tenderness since Jambvant (of living beings)
waits expectantly while sitting on the powerful mount of the heart which is the most
excellent place.
Oh Mahabali (most powerful), the bold warrior! Why do not you get rid of my Lankini (the
principal guard of the city of Lanka guarding the gates) of painful agony by twisting it with
a blow of your leg.

the entire fixed plus moving multitude of living beings is in your hands.Consider your
majestic grandeur.
Oh god! Tulsi is your personal attendant, you dwell in his heart and he seems to be
suffering immensely. The pain which arises from wind (as a bodily humour) is like the

Will demoness Putana, the sister of Bakasura, be scared of anyone, relying on the
terrible king Kamsa of karmas? Very dangerous in killing children, whose lila or play can
not be narrated, she will deceive small gullible infants. You reflect and consider. She has
come in the guise a beautiful woman and in case she falls into the clutches of a virtuous
person like you, everyone's sins will be annihilated. Oh Kapiraj, the most powerful one!

The pain hurting Tulsi's arms is like demoness Putana and you are very much like child
Krishna. She will only die when you kill it.

This excruciating pain is destiny or time, an outcome of anger that is tridosh (a triple
disorder of bile, blood and phlegm) or my horrible sins, sorrow or else a mirage. The
manner of killing or yantra is the fruit of a tree of mantras (incantation); Oh sinner
Putana, you are evil-minded! Run away or else I openly announce that you might
become insane on getting to know the wrath of Kapiraj.

Slaughtering the power of Sinhika (The female rakshasa, Sinhika, rises up out of the
waters and swallows Hanuman as he nears Lanka. Inside the demoness, Hanuman
crushes her heart and escapes through her ear.), reforming the deceit of Sursa (the
demoness who blocked the sea to Lanka,Becoming very small, Hanumanji went in
through her ear and came out of her mouth thus fulfilling the boon that everyone who
ventured here must pass through her mouth), killing Lankini (a demoness guarding
Lanka) and ravaging the Ashok Vatika (a garden in Lanka where Sita was held captive
by Ravana).
Burning the city of Lanka to ashes, you repeatedly annihilated the troops of demons,
shredding them apart like a female crocodile. Tearing Yamraj's sword or in other words
exposing him, you brought out the mother of Meghnad and Ravana's patrani, Mandodri,

Oh brave one! Hearing the play of your boyhood, the courageous are also terrified, while
Indra, the sun and Rahu lose consciousness of their body. With the might of your arms
all lokpaals (deities presiding over the universe) settle down without any grief and by
taking your name everybody is free of sorrow.
Superior to what is ordained by incantation, bribery, threat and guile (the traditional
means of a king to attain his purposes) and even by study of the Vedas, is that thieves
and businessmen are mere puppets in the hands of Kapinath (a title of Hanuman). Is the
painful agony hurting Tulsidasji's arms for the past so many days due to your laziness or
fury, ridicule or teaching.

Oh Kripanidhaan (store of grace) who looks after the poor! Stricken by poverty I wander
from house to house for scraps of food. Beckoning me, you have brought me up like a
child. Oh brave Anjani Kumar! Primarily you have protected me, and I have absolute
faith that you will not forget your devotee. Oh Kapiraj! (Lord of the monkeys). You are
competent in every fashion as of today.
I am telling the truth, who can be equated to you in the three lokas (cosmological
regions)? But I am regret that this sevaka (devotee) is bearing such misery. The bird is
dying like a child's prank and you are watching the spectacle.

The pain in my arms has escalated due to my own sins, the three fevers and curses.
Neither does it leave me nor is it bearable. Several medicines, charms-incantations-
magical practices were resorted to, deities were propitiated but everything was in
vain.The ache continues to increase.

Who amongst Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, karmas or actions, kaal or ages and the
illusionary entanglement of this world, not abide by your order. Oh Ramdoot! (envoy of

You are the emissary of King Ramchandra, the virtuous son of the Wind God, physically
competent and the supporter of those seeking refuge. The tale of your splendid fame is
renowned, the Vedas sing of your glory and a warrior like Ravana who is triumphant in
the three worlds was wounded by your blow.

Even with such a greatly competent svami like you showering his grace, your most
excellent sevaka (who attends to your needs) is grieved mentally, physically and by
speech. Tulsi is very depressed about this slight pain of the arms.Your visible effect has
vanished due to which sin of mine or anger.

envoy of Rama.

Shiva) It is due to your gullible nature that you become offended by a slight mistake.
Becoming content, settle me by taking me into your shelter. Do not make me miserable
by assuming that I am your sevak (attending to your needs).
If you are water I am like a fish and in case you are the mother I am an infant. Do not

Ever since childhood I came face to face with Shri Ramchandraji directly.Chanting the
name of Ram vocally, I begged for scraps of food and ate them.Thereafter absorbed in
conventional norms, I broke off the pristine love I had for the feet of Shri Ramchandraji
by quickly jumping into this mundane world (in youth) due to ignorance.
While doing wicked deeds at that point of time, Anjani Kumar (Hanumanji) made me his

arrogant on getting fame and abandoned singing devotional songs for Rama physically-

Listen attentively to what I have to say to Hanumanji, the discerning king Rama, and
Shankarji who is the trove of mercy. It has been seen that the creator has made the
entire world, delightful, dejected, loving and raging, virtuous and sinful. The Vedas affirm
that Ramchandraji is the preserver of the illusory world, mankind, kaal (eventual fate),
karmas (actions) and temperament. Mentally I have acknowledged this fact to be the
truth.
I beg that you make me understand what is it that can not be done by you. Thereafter I
will keep quiet on knowing that I reap what has been sown by me.
