RESEARCH AND ACADEMICS An Engima for young generation!!
Dear Doctors,
Greetings!!!
It gives me immense pleasure to say that Journal of Head & Neck Physicians and Surgeons
(JHNPS) was started on lucky fortnight in July 2013 to provide a platform for the young and
budding surgeons/physicians/students to prove themselves in field of academics, research and
teaching by providing a wonderful opportunity in the International arena. This journal aims to
recognize the hard work and talent of these budding and young doctors of India and abroad,
respect their views/opinion and give them a golden opportunity to get a global recognition of
their work. Our aim is also to convey that research is necessary for our discipline not only to
advance basic understanding, but also to ensure the highest quality of clinical services for our
mankind. Indeed, it is fair to say that research is essential for our discipline to survive. This
journal will provide an arena for globalization of research work and shall achieve to new heights
in near future. Our Editorial board consists of a highly experienced maestro in different fields of
head & neck. We have recently started JHNPS STUDENTS AMBASSADORS PROGRAM
2014 where 20 students will be selected across the globe every year. This is to motivate the
young generation physicians and surgeons, train them to adopt research and academics as their
career and also to recognize their work globally. I am sure this program will instill every student

to gain knowledge of research and publications since EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE is the
todays moto to survive in medical and paramedical sciences. We are also starting a JUNIOR
EDITORIAL BOARD where only postgraduates and experienced undergraduates will be
appointed to provide them opportunity to expand their knowledge in managing a journal,
reviewing the articles and also to make them understand the basic ethics for administration of the
journal. However we approach the challenge of inspiring the young generation to pursue a
research career, we should focus not only on the value of research and academics for the
discipline, but also on the personal joy and satisfaction inherent in such a worthy career.
Wishing you good luck

Yours sincerely,
