Safety Considerations:
1. [M2] Personnel performing this maintenance should be familiar with the equipment, meet the
assigned maintenance levels and has received adequate instructions to perform the task
safely.
Task Items: A. Brake control Joystick 10 Comandments.
1. [M2] Check that the HPU for the brake system is on and running.
2. [M2] Check the lighting in the Brake Panel. Report any malfunction light.
3. [M2] Function tests the brake prior to start Operations.
4. [M2] Joystick on Vertical position; Engage the TWIN Brake System and check the Gauges.
The left Gauge Parking Brake Should Read (0). The Right Gauge Service Brake reads 120 bars.

5. [M2] Turn off the TWIN Brake System.
6. [M2] Bleed off the Crown O Matic round head valve to reset the system. Observe the pressure gauges
both gauges should read (0).
7. [M2] Push the Joystick forward to the Maximum. The left gauge, Parking Brake System should read (0).
The right gauge, Service barke System most read 120 bars. (This indicates that both brakes are
engaged).
8. [M2] .While the Joystick is pushed forward, press the Button on the Joystick to release the parking
brake. The pressure gauges should read 220 bars for the left and 120 bars for the right.
9. [M2] .Maintain the finger on the push button and pull the joystick backward watching the DRAWWORKS
LINE and the string. The pressure will start dropping on the right side gauge while the left gauge
will maintain 220 bars. To stop push the joystick forward to the Maxi. Release the button. Before
returning the joystick to the vertical position ENSURE the LEFT GAUGE pressure is returned to (0)
10. [M2] Ensure to engage the TWIN BRAKE SYSTEM always when the DRUM movement stop or the
DRAWWORKS is not in use.
The Brake is now ready to use;
Any thing contrary to the steps above should be reported immediately:
