Manzanita Family Faculty Organization (FFO)
Answers to FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE FFO? The FFO is a 501(c)3 organization with three primary goals: (1) to
provide a medium of communication between faculty and families on educational advances and current programs;
(2) to assist in the realization and coordination of educational programs necessary in providing students with an
up-to-date, state-of-the-art education; and (3) to provide monetary and manpower support for student assistance
and school needs. We accomplish these goals by raising funds to augment classroom resources and technology
on campus, and we provide volunteer support for activities and events that help build a caring school community.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER? You already are a member of the FFO!! Any individual with a child currently
enrolled at Manzanita and all staff are automatically members of the FFO. As a member you are entitled (and
encouraged) to attend all meetings, vote on important FFO issues, and help support, coordinate, and run school
sponsored functions.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE IN THE FFO? It is quite simple; you can participate by giving your dollars and/or you
time. There are a variety of FFO sponsored fundraisers, activities, and events throughout the school year that
allow you to pick and choose where you are interested and allow for schedule flexibility. Whatever your particular
interests, there is a role for you! Come to the monthly meetings to find out whats happening at any given time
younger siblings are always welcome. If you cannot attend the meetings but still would like to participate:
volunteer to help with a specific event, look for volunteer opportunities on the FFO pages of Manzanitas website
and in the Manzanita Messenger, sponsor events with a financial donation, or contact one of the FFO officers.
You can participate as you wish and as your schedule permits. It truly does take a village to raise a child!join us!

WHO DECIDES HOW FFO DOLLARS ARE ALLOCATED AND WHAT ACTIVITIES THE FFO SUPPORTS?
You do! At every FFO meeting, the Treasurer gives a financial report and provides a copy of the detailed annual
budget, updated to the current month. The annual budget is proposed by the Executive Board and voted upon by
the membership at large during our April meeting each year.

Delivery of hard copy directory:
By mid-October, print copies of the directory will be delivered through your student at their school. If you list your high school
student, the directory will be delivered through their Advisory Period teacher; If you list a middle school student, you will be
notified which teacher will be distributing their books; if you list an elementary school student, please enter their homeroom
