Friday, Sept 5 - Star Train with the Nevada Northern Railway - Great Basin National Park and the Nevada
Northern Railway in Ely, NV are once again excited to ofer the NNRWs Star Train. Great Basins astronomy
park rangers will be onboard these special themed train rides to ofer a glimpse into the incredible dark skies
of the Great Basin. Riders will begin their journey from the train station in Ely, NV and ride the historic
northern train route. While onboard, Great Basins Dark Rangers will provide explanation on astronomical
subjects, including trivia and prize giveaways, all commencing with stop out of town where passengers will
disembark the train and gaze through the parks high-powered telescopes. Riders will see incredible astro-
nomical views, such as planets and deep space objects. Tickets can be purchased online or at the NNRW
station.
Sat, September 6 - Outdoor Education Series: OES provides outdoor related information and activities across
a broad spectrum of intereststhe natural world, outdoor recreation, art, history, to skill development. Youll
have opportunities to hear about diferent topics and connect with a variety of people. Te Outdoor Educa-
tion Series will take place every Tursday at 11:30 in the SUU Outdoor Center

Mon, September 8 - Great Basin Full Moon Guided Hike: A limit of 40 people are permitted on these pop-
ular guided hikes and they are frst come, frst served (no reservations). Free tickets are available the day of
the hike at the Lehman Caves Visitor Center. Although we keep the location of the full moon hike secret
until you pick up your tickets, expect an easy to moderate two-mile hike above 10,000 feet. For the safety and
enjoyment of the hiker and the group, the rules listed below are strictly enforced; violations can disqualify

David Whitmore leads a free guided hike into our local wild areas. Snacks and water are provided free of

Sat, September 13 - Pine Valley Camp Fire Talk :Every saturday Pine Valley Hosts a camp fre talk at the
amphitheater in the camp ground. Tese talks have included mountain man presentations, leave no trace,

Pine Valley Guided Hike: Please Join us on Saturday, September 13 for a guided hike through the Pine Valley
Wilderness. Tis will be a short educational hike designed to help families understand the importance of our
