DO-IT-YOURSELF PAPER FOLD KITE MANUAL
The following 2 paper fold kites are so easy and inexpensive to make.
All you need is some paper, scissors, glue or sticky tape and sewing thread.
They are great for kids and will take less than 5 minutes to make!
Adams Paper DIY Kite
Requirements:
1 x Sheet of Photocopy paper A4 (21cm x 29.5cm - 8.3in x 11.6in)
1 x strip of newspaper for tail 5cm x 1.5m (2in x 60in)
Sewing thread for flying line
Instructions:
Take your sheet of A4 paper and mark the middle on both ends of the shorter sides.

Next mark 4.5cm (1.8in) in from the longest side.
Fold the paper along the line you marked above.

Repeat Steps 2 and 3 above on the other side.
Now cut out the paper tail from the newspaper. The tail needs to be 5cm (2in) wide and at least 1.5m
(60in) long.

You can connect newspaper strips with a sticky tape to make the tail longer.
Secure the tail with glue or tape to the middle of the kite on one end.

Make a little hole on the other end and tie the flying thread.
Your kite is now ready to fly! Choose
an open area away from trees and
buildings and launch your kite into a
gentle wind and watch it soar!

Fold your sheet of A4 paper in half.
Next take each half and fold in half again.
Daves Paper DIY Sled Kite
Requirements:
1 x Sheet of Photocopy paper A4 (21cm x 29.5cm - 8.3in x 11.6in)
1 x strip of newspaper for tail 5cm x 1.5m (2in x 60in)
1m (40in) sewing thread for the bridle line
Sewing thread for flying line

And then take this half and fold it back on its self.
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 above on the other side.

Now mark 5cm (2in) down on both edges. This is where you will attach the bridle.
Using something sharp make a hole at each mark.

Now take your 1m (40in) bridle line and tie the bridle in place through each hole.
Place the two knotted ends together to find the centre of the bridle line.

Tie a loop in the centre of the bridle line. This is where you will attach the flying line.
Now cut out the paper tail from the newspaper. The tail needs to be 5cm (2in) wide and at least 1.5m
(60in) long.

Attach the tail to kite at the opposite end to the bridle using glue or sticky tape.

Attach the flying line and your paper
