Both Parents Should Assume Equal Responsibility in Raising a Child
Have you had problems in choosing who raises your child? Sometimes we do not know
who should raise our children: the mother or the father; this is given by the belief that only
one parent can raise a child. Therefore, some people think that the mother should raise the
child and the father should work for the money. So, it is believed that one parent is enough to
raise a child, but both parents are needed to raise a child for a few reasons such as the
parenting way, the role of the parents and the earning of parents at work.
Some people think that the mother should raise the child because the parenting way that
she has. However, others think that the parenting way of both parents is important in the
child. The parenting way of the mother is necessary in a child because she gives love,
affection and the comprehension that the child requires. On the contrary, the father shows
protection and authority that makes the child gain confidence in his/her father. According to
Ivan Gil children raised in the bosom of a single parent are more likely to suffer emotional
dysfunctions. As a result, both parents should raise their child together because they
complement on their parenting way.
As the parenting way influences in the child, also influences the role of the parents. Some
people think that the mother has a better role than the father, but the role of both parents are
useful for the child. According to Cee Donohue the roles of the mother are cleaning, cooking
and educating the child. In contrast, the role that has the father is the discipline of the child

and to teach the order that the kids need in their life. Consequently, the role of both will give
the child a more ordered life with better discipline, better education and good manners.
Besides of these influences in the child, we must take in mind the earning of the parents.
Few people think that only the father needs to work all day, but both parents should work
taking in mind the child. According to INEC the average monthly income of women is $
129.35 less than men. However, this does not make the woman cannot have the same
opportunities as man; on the contrary, women have good opportunities in work. For instance,
men are more often in hard work as engineering, mechanical, carpentry and more. In contrast,
women are often in soft work as secretariat, gardening, etc. Now, both parents could work and
take care of the child, for the child to have a nice life.
As we can see both parents could work and raise the child at the same time because the kid
needs their support and love. Moreover, the parenting way and the role of the parents in the
child is very important throughout his childhood because the kid can learn positive and
different things from each of their parents. With respect to the work the mother and the
parents can work only if they assume the same responsibility of the child. To conclude, the
kid needs both parents in the raising because of the parenting way, the role of the parents and
the earning of parents at work.
