erection.

5.0 PROEDURE
5.1 Responsibility
5.1.1 The responsibilit( for carr(ing out this %ethod -tatement shall be that of the
iscipline &ngineer2 3oremen$ unless other0ise specificall( mentioned in this
procedure. The Qualit( &ngineer2 iscipline &ngineer2 3oremen shall be
responsible for inspection ! testing.

5.2 Preparation
9efore starting duct erection$ it is important to ma:e sure that plastering and
bloc: 0or: of that area is completed or not. It is al0a(s ad;isable to start
duct erection 0or: after completing all 0et 0or: or others so that insulation
should not be damaged. "ompleting all 0et 0or: or other0ise after erecting
all ducts it should be co;ered 0ith plastic paper so that insulation should not
get damaged.
5.2.1 9efore starting duct erection all ducts supports should be painted 0ith epo<(
paint or =al;ani>ed angle should be used.
5.2.2 ?nce 0e mar:ed all duct la(out and accordingl( fi< duct support as per
appro;ed dra0ing and super;isor should ma:e sure that si>e of angle and
threaded rod are correct as per @ 1#2 2 A-.5A& standard.
5.2.3 All duct bottom le;el shall be maintained as sho0n in the appro;ed shop
dra0ing and duct shall be installed as per coordinated ser;ices dra0ing
la(out.
5.2.# After completing all duct erection$ it is important to appl( duct sealant in all
1oints and all corners so that no conditioned air 0ill be escaped through an(
gap.
5.2.5 After completing one unit 2 Area duct0or: then it should be chec:ed and
;erified b( the super;isor and chec: form shall be filled and consultant
appro;al shall be ta:en.
5.3 Testing
5.3.1 Aea: test of ducting shall be done onl( if it is particularl( mentioned in the
contract and if it is mentioned in the contract then do it according to the
specified method.
5.3.2 If 0e perform lea: test of the duct0or: then ma:e sure that consultant shall
0itness the test and certificate shall be obtained from authori>ed person.
