Produot Features
A short power pulse releases the latching solenoid's plunger, allowing the spring
to drive the wedge mechanism.
The spring driven wedge drives the jaws towards one another to grip the part.
ho power is required to maintain grip force.
To open the gripper, a short power pulse to the solenoid retracts the plunger to
the latched position, which opens the jaws. ho power is required to maintain the
open position.

loctite

2. Nount gripper using dowel pins and threaded fasteners. 0ripper can oe mounted and operated in an] orientation. 8ee dimensional drawing for
mounting hole pattern and sizes. Use loctite

8. The following instructions appl] to standard operation and require a 24VDC power suppl].
To open gripper, connect positive lead of power suppl] to Pin 1 of the connector and negative lead to Pin 8 of the connector. 8ee oelow for pin
orientation. Pulse for 5Omsec maximum as shown in Timing Diagram. After 5O msec pulse, allow 45Omsec minimum dwell time. To close
gripper, connect positive lead of power suppl] to Pin 8 of connector and negative lead to Pin 1 of connector. Pulse for 5Omsec maximum as
shown in Timing Diagram. After 5Omsec pulse, allow 45Omsec minimum dwell time.

4j Adjust preload o] adjusting #12 preload screws.

5j lnstall #1O solenoid plunger with #8 clevis pin and #17
retaining rings.
Oj Fasten #1O solenoid to housing. Do not tighten ]et,
allowing the solenoid to freel] move within slots.
7j 8lide #9 spacer and #1O solenoid spring onto plunger.
8j Fasten #1 ood] into #8 housing. Completel] fasten the
two screws that are located on the same side as the #1O
solenoid 8-pin connector then fasten the two remaining
screws on the opposite side.
9j Full] open jaws and tighten #15 screws securel].
1Oj lnstall #7 shields to gripper.
11j Fasten #1O 8-pin connector.
12j Fasten #4 cap into housing. Completel] fasten the two
screws that are located on the same side as the #1O
solenoid 8-pin connector then fasten the two remaining
screws on the opposite side.
