The Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences is a strong faculty that has a coherent focus on health and well-being underpinned by a clear integrative theme related to preventative health and behaviour change. DUTY STATEMENT
Primary Purposes of Position
To coordinate administrative operations for the Facultys international marketing activities, in countries and regions designated by the Facultys Manager, International Development. The role will facilitate the development of new international engagement opportunities for the Faculty and Schools. International and Domestic travel will be required for this role.
Duties
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
International Recruitment and Marketing Contribute to the facilitation of the Facultys international marketing activities across all programs offered within the Faculty. Activities would include attending and organising Faculty representation and participation where appropriate at international and local student recruitment exhibitions and related activities as directed. In consultation with the Faculty Marketing team, identify marketing needs and assist with the development of appropriate marketing materials for staff representing the Faculty and the University at international marketing events including brochures, publications and powerpoint presentations. Develop/maintain/improve the website for advice given to international prospective and enrolled students. Meet with international visitors to the Faculty to provide advice on Faculty programs. Liaise and collaborate with other Faculties within the University as required in the area of international development and marketing.
International Development In consultation with the Manager, International Development, work with the schools to initiate, develop and manage international partnerships/alliances to further the interests of the Faculty. Develop and maintain on-going relationships with recruitment agents, and students and staff of the Facultys off-shore partners. Continually investigate and provide recommendations to the Manager on improving relevant International promotional materials and practices to ensure that the Faculty remains current with the international market demands. Identify international opportunities for the Faculty and present to Manager for consideration Coordinate and follow up on Faculty international interests both in Australia and overseas. Organise briefing sessions for UQ International to update organisational knowledge of the Facultys programs. Provide training and briefing sessions for staff within the Faculty and Schools as required.

Reporting Relationships The Senior International Relations Officer reports to the Manager, International Development
SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications Essential An undergraduate degree in a relevant area with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Experience Essential Experience in a tertiary education institution or other large organisation within a senior administrative role. Substantial experience in the use of computer packages for word-processing, data storage and retrieval, e-mail, spreadsheets and other administrative activities. Experience of University student computer systems e.g. SI-net and Business Objects, or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge.
Desirable Experience within international development.
Knowledge and Skills Essential Knowledge of legislation relating to international students such as the Education Services for Overseas Students Act, Department of Immigration and Border Protection requirements, etc. or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge. A sound understanding of issues relating to the export of Australian education.
Personal Qualities Essential Demonstrated ability to understand and promote the Facultys programs to a wide range of audiences, including international students, parents, international agencies, agents and alumni. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with academic and administrative areas within the University and external agencies. Demonstrated effective communication experience with people from diverse cultural backgrounds with sensitivity and awareness of cultural differences. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative
