The Desert Storm Offensive

This can be applicable to any formation as long as your pieces are used wisely... With the attachment
included, think of the enemy's base as Kuwait City. At the start of the ground war, commander of the
allied forces under the UN flag, US Army Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf probed and attacked the border of
Kuwait from Saudi Arabia to move inland to encounter Iraqi forces and also engage the elite Iraqi
Republican Guard. At the same time, he mobilized another powerful allied force probing along the Saudi
Arabian western border into Iraq and encounter more enemy forces heading north and and moving to
the western northern borders of Iraq and Kuwait to hopefully surround the Republican Guard. Gen.
Schwarzkopf had the opportunity to finish them off and bring the war back to Baghdad to finish off Iraqi
Pres. Saddam Hussein then, but was under strict orders that the mission was 'only to move Iraqi forces
out and liberate Kuwait'. If we interpreted Schwarzkopf's offensive to the game...is to probe both sides
of the game board where if manageable to probe and eliminate an overwhelming force on one side of
the board, then it can move behind and counter attack to where the direct frontal attack of the other
force is held up at a 'stalemate'... Once achieved, you might have cornered and eliminated key forces, as
well as surrounded the enemy's flag! Again, use your forces wisely! Good luck!!!

This tactic is a combine force of Generals and spies with one private on the right wing. The first move is
to deceive the enemy with a high rank on the left as to focus some of his general army on that side.
Then out flank the right wing one by one. Notice the other general comming from behind. The purpose
is to buy time for scouting what are the army on the right. After catching the spy, 80% chance that the
area is spy free. Moving forward the generals to out plank incomming enemy from the left for the flag
reach the base of the enemy and win the game.

SO THIS WAS THE STRATEGY I COME UP WITH.....
(DEFENCE FIRST BEFORE ATTACK)
This is my playing style...DEFEND THEN ATTACK AT THE RIGHT TIME

How to:
1)flag should be at the center right so the player would usually think that MY CENTER IS ALWAYS the flag
(disguising)
2)All spys, generals, privates must be at the first row and middle row and is near the flag (TO TEST AND
DEFEND, then ATTACK)
3)When you all killed these pieces:(spy and private) YOU CAN NOW KILL EVERYTHING USING A 5-STAR
OR A SPY but becareful too because your FLAG can be eaten or the opponents flag can go to your base
a) what if your the one whose loosing without spys and privates?(Be sure to defend then GAMBLE in
attacking and try to MAKE A SOLUTION ON WHERE IS THE SPY or the generals[SOMETIMES YOU CAN BE
TRICKED]
4)When you all killed these pieces:(spy and private) YOU CAN ALSO PROTECT THE FLAG BY SPY AND
GENERALS THEN MAKE A WAY FOR YOUR FLAG TO GO TO YOUR OPPENENTS BASE

THIS IS THE MOST SPECIAL RULE;

...BE SURE TO PLAY IN YOUR OWN WAY, YOU CAN FOLLOW THIS OR YOU CAN DO YOUR OWN WAY
...ITS JUST A GAME OF offence and defence SO BE SURE TO PICK your playstyle

YOU'LL NEVER GONNA WIN IF YOU avoid YOUR OWN PLAYSTYLE...ITS IN YOUR HEART AND MIND IN
WINNING

"Blitz"-cranking - By Flintlock
Postby Flintlock Mon Feb 17, 2014 11:33 am

This is actually the first post I made so if it's not that detailed or "understandable" for you, you can
always use the PM thing and message me/ask me if you have any questions, and please don't be
disappointed, I need positive reviews and comments about it, how I can improve it and so on.

For me, I personally like to stay in Blitz mode, meaning all out attack; all out military style. Although,
sometimes.. it is hard for me to be in this mode because I risk too much pieces, that leads to exposure,
and eventually being vulnerable to surefire attacks, which then leads to defeat.

And yes, Vulnerability is one of the most common and strong weakness of a Blitzcranker, and
weaknesses are meant to be hidden, and yes, removed. So, speaking of this, one shouldn't always put
their offense in the "front line" I mean, not literally. Some Blitz-cranker like me prefer to position the 5-
star general almost, but not totally in the front "right (opposite of left)" side which leads me to
positioning Spy on the back, and Pvt beside the piece, (the two pieces Pvt and Spy supporting and
hopefully be a Blitz piece as well after protecting the 5-star.

And speaking about "supporting" pieces being all out Blitzers, for example, let's say Spy being in the
back of the 5-star front liner, along with the Pvt beside the 5 star on the front, when the 5-star attacks
first, the enemy move a piece in front of the 5-star, chances are, the 5 star can eat it while the Spy can
protect it afterwards, or if the 5 star moves in front, the enemy moves a space beside the empty space
the 5star is facing, chances are if the enemy piece that moved to that certain space is a spy, you can
capture it with your Pvt, on the side protecting the 5 star and eventually, you can complete a full
protected 5 star Blitzcranker by moving the Spy onto the back of the 5 star.

When the 5 star got eaten, you don't worry because chances and hopefully, luck will play in to turn your
supporting pieces (without the 5 star) into last resort, sure fire Blitzcrankers and eventually win the
game.

But what if the enemy spies had run out and "some" of your spies and sergeant, major, colonel had been
removed all left is a bunch of "useless (as many starters call it) Privates hanging around trying to protect
the flag", well please don't call the remaining Private useless just because again the enemy has no spies,
in that situation, I'm sure both you and the enemy is equal, or almost not, (due to the enemy taking
offense against you) but don't lose hope just yet, just because you have a bunch of Privates with some
good ranks left, doesn't mean you can get "decepted" by your enemy taking control (as you can see it)
but yet leaving so much space and the flag of the enemy just rock solid, like not moving out of they're
defense to fly across the board, you will do it yourself, this time, you will sacrifice the remaining pieces
in order for you to be victorius, in order for you to bypass those decepting pieces of your opponent and
for you to become the deceptor, that's the time when all of your pieces become Blitzers, ready to
sacrifice, and now let's go to the practicals of it.

Your flag is, lets say being protected by a single spy on it's front, and the remaining Colonel, and major is
hanging around doing defense, what you can do is to decept your enemy as again, making your spy a
surviving 4 star or even 5 star general in your opponents mind, and thats the time when you maneuver
your spy into the free space in the middle where your enemy left for you to come in and your remaining
pieces sticking together, for example a private of an a enemy will attack you from the side when you are
trying to cross the flag across the board, but yet the enemy doesn't know you have a higher piece left in
your team, you use the higher piece to attack that piece, or if the enemy piece is higher, hopefully your
enemy piece can be baited onto your lower piece for you to not get attack as you cross.

It just goes to show that Blitz-cranking isn't bad after all. You just need to have the heart, be the
deceptor and sacrifice.

Try this Jug Formation
Postby juggernaut64 Thu May 27, 2010 9:34 pm

Guys,

This is another formation which I wish to share with you. I hope you will like it. Modesty aside, if I am
not mistaken, my batting winning average using this formation is around 90%. Well, of course, luck will
play a very important role specially in the opening game but if one will really get to master how to use
this formation, then it will cause headaches to a lot of opponents. And again, with the stroke of luck, this
will be a very formidable formation to smash a blitzkrieg by the opponent if it happens that he attacks
on the strong side. And of course, this formation may be used either way, as a very effective defense
mechanism BUT with full options for an offensive counterstrike!

This is the formation: (which may be inverted, of course, as one has to decide which side he prefers to
be stronger, anyway, in this particular case, the strong side is the left side)

from the left: Front row : Private, 5Star, captain, col., 2 star, 3 star, 1st lt., major, 1 star
Middle row : (blank), Private, 4 star, spy, private, private, spy, 2nd lt. (blank)
Last row : Lt.Col, (blank), Flag, (blank), sgt., (blank), Private, (blank), Private

Analyses :

If the opponent eats the private on the left side, first row, then the 5 star will test that opponent; if the 5
star wins, then he can act as a spy, if split, then the 4 star is nearby to make sure that the flag is amply
protected.
If the opponent happens to make a blitz and usually, if he eats first that private with a spy, then the
game is half won coz the 5 star can wipe out at least 4 more pieces in that area.
If the opponent makes a blitz on the weaker side, by eating the 1 star on the right corner, the major
should counter and test the piece in front of him to make it appear that the 2nd lt is a spy. And if that
first attqacking piece happens to be a spy, then you ahve 2 privates at the bottom row. The other spy
can easily be pulled to reinforce the weak side as it is not too far, while the 5 and 4 star can do a counter
attack, even with the assistance of the Lt. Col. at the bottom left, to try a counter flag across.
On the middle of the board, if the 2 star will beat the piece in front of him, then the opponent will think
that it is of higher rank and he will never think that the pieces beside are as strong as the 3 star and the
Col.; however, if the 2 star is beaten on the middle encounter, it is of great chance that the 3 star and
the Col. will then beat the pieces fronting them.
Try to feel first which part your opponent will advance. If he advance on your strong side, just let him as
it will be better to advance the pieces on your weaker side to give an impression. So once he attacks
your strong side, it is like getting candy from a baby.
Once the battle ensues on your strong side and you think that chances are 50/50, then you may even
move your flag nearer to the middle part thereby positioning somewhere between the 2 spies. The
essence of this formation is to make the flag secured as much as possible.

Well, as I keep on saying, luck will truly play a big factor especially in the opening salvos. With a little
luck and the expertise to react to movements as the game progresses, this formation even has all the
potentials for bluffing as it is also somewhat unorthodox, which will make your opponents harder to
analyze your pieces. And as the game progresses, it is of very high probability that by the time your
opponent realyzes the strength of your pieces, then one thing is for certain, he had been depleted of
high ranking officers, a lot of them.

And the rest is elementary.... Bossings.......... :D

Hope that this will make your gamne progress in great leaps, specially for those who are on the mid to
almost expert level. Enjoy guys!

Always a pleasure to be of assistance.

- Kuya Jug ;-)

row * captain , private , sergent , 3star , 5star , 4star , 2nd lieutenant , private , 1st lieutenant * 2nd row
* 2star , spy , colonel , private , private , private , lt.colonel , spy , 1star * 3rd row * private , blank , blank

I don't know if this is a good strategy, but I always use this kind of strategy....
one of my technique is putting the rank 1-3 star in the first row with privates and other ranks like
sergeant and collonel...
then put the 3-5 star general and spy at the second.....b
by using these....enemy is very confident that he won the first blood. because most of the players are
putting the 5 star general or spy in the front. because he/she won the first match he is very convenient
that most of my high-ranking official had been depleted. then that is when i will attack. but not a full
force. i always make it look like a lucky shot at the engage of both piece so the enemy is slowly
destroying by him/herself by still having confidence......
because of this strategy my high-ranking officials are surviving longer and i know first what is in his/her
pieces......

As I have said before... all these strategies are effective. But being a the 'ultimate master' is how to
counter them. Even today's players are reading each strategy off this list, including my own "Y-Defense"
& "Corridor of Risk" that I have published over 3yrs ago. Now, the game has taken a big step forward.
Deception & Defense are the 2 keys in winning a campaign and is still being used by military strategists
up to today.

'The Deception' is to draw your opponent's attacking force away from your prime objective.. and that
even includes using your 'flag' as an attacking piece. This is created by making the opponent believe
where your force will create the most damage in order to achieve the player's primary objective... That
is to invade and to get his/her flag to the opponent's side of the board. 'Flag hunting' will only be the
'last resort' objective.

After luring the opponent away, 'the Defense' begins by discreetly positioning key pieces all over the
board from the high ranked pieces to the most vulnerable piece. The 'risk' can be great... but I
remember a saying that goes, "The needs of the many may sometime outweigh the needs of the few.. or
the one." You may need to sacrifice the majority of your force in order to accomplish your goal and it
can work with one good bluff, no matter with a few pieces left.

It's not the formation you use, but it's how you utilize your forces... wisely!!!

1st row: 5 star, 2 star, 1st LT, 1 star, sgt, 3 star, major, 4 star, capt
2nd row: private, spy, Col, private, ltCol, Private, spy, private, private
3rd row: flag, blank, blank, blank, 2nd LT, blank, blank, private, blank

This is my strategy and it has been able to help me in my latest game.
The current record of my streak is 7-2-2. 7 wins! Yay! :D
This strategy is balanced because you have a spy and a 5 star on your left flank and a 4 star and spy on
your right. This is good because the position of the spy on the right flank is adjustable. If your middle
flank is pawned, your spy can adjust to your current situation. Your main flank is the left flank and your
secondary flank(incase your main flank gets wiped out) and the middle flank is the support flank. Notice
that there are 2 gens in your middle flank to hold off the 1st piece testers. If any of the flanks became
dominant or pawned most if his pieces in that flank, then his support will be diverted to that flank and
his attack your other flanks.
As you can see this is a balanced strategy where the gens are all on front to prevent your opponent from
penetrating quickly in your defense. GOOD LUCK! :D Hope I helped a bit.

P.S. There is no unbeatable strategy that's why it has already 2 losses but it could still provide more
percentage of winning than losing. :D It is still up to you on how you will use this to your advantage.
Comments are much appreciated :D
