Issue of poverty or non-equality

The emotional environment always takes place at the question of poverty measurement in our
country. On the basis of facts and arguments in the Public debates Sympathy or pity over comes
rather than to look at this matter. As a result the matter diverse its path in its reference. It has
been seen at the report of C Rangrajan Once again. This commission was set up because similar
environment had been performed by Suresh Tendulkar formula of poverty measurement. Three
major issues were given to Rangrajan commission for consideration: analysis of options of
measuring poverty based on the consumption scale, work out on procedure of poverty
measuring scale on consumption basis and to recommend about whether the present poverty
line should have the right to avail all the governmental welfare schemes. Rangrajan committee
remained determined on consumption based scale. They have made rectification in poverty line
on this challenge, according to that peoples who are able to spend minimum 47(monthly 1,407)
in cities and 32(972) rupees per day in villages should be considered above the poverty line.
According to Tendulkar formula this amount was 33(monthly 1000 rupees) in cities and 27
(monthly 816 rupees) per day. Then it was recommended that this poverty line should not be
base to get profit from government welfare schemes. Even after it is very hot issue. Issue is that
what will be the limit of consumption or income at which all people will be satisfied with
measured poverty line? As the government said that the motive of this poverty line is only to
study the effect of welfare programs then what is the essentiality of giving it too much
importance? This line is according to the scale that adopted by World Bank and UNO. The
Motive is to measure of progress as the indication of social developments. Therefore it would
be better that people having sympathy with poor people, actually in their discussion they pull
them at non equality. The misbalance of income is the major issue all over the world. The
enlarging rift between these affairs should be centralized on the base of full filling then
definitely poors will get their welfare.
