DESCRIPTION
Using the MCW 1043 microphone unit the chairman can switch into the discussion any time and thus guide the meeting.
The MCW 1043 chairman microphone unit has three buttons and operates on a xed frequency related to one
receiver in the control unit. If the receiving frequency is changed, the controller adjusts the chairman microphone unit
to this frequency automatically. The microphone button is used for switching the gooseneck microphone on and off.
The chairman does not depend upon the maximum number of open microphones. Using the clear button all activated
delegate microphone units are switched off. The control button can activate a oating contact in the MCW discussion
control unit, if required. This can be used for switching ON/OFF a sound reinforcement system or an air conditioning
system for instance.
The ready-to-talk condition of the microphone is indicated by the red illuminated ring and the green LED in the
housing.
In interpreting applications the desired language can be adjusted with the 8-channel switch and listened to via a
connected headphone. The volume of the translation can be adjusted with a separate volume control. The loudspeaker
of the microphone unit switches off automatically when a headphone is connected. For any further foreign language
there is another UHF transmitter (CT 30) needed in the control unit. The control unit is supplied with an UHF transmitter
for the original language (channel 1 or loudspeaker of the microphone unit).
There is a digital transceiver incorporated for the digital control, monitoring and switching on of the microphone unit.
The integrated loudspeaker reproduces the signal of the complete conference system (original language). The volume
of the loudspeaker can be adjusted at the bottom of the microphone unit. The receiver related to the loudspeaker also
operates in the UHF-range. When the microphone is switched on the volume of its loudspeaker is reduced. This volume
decrease has been pre-set at the factory, but it can be adjusted inside the microphone unit individually. The frequency
equalisation ensures an optimum intelligibility of speech of the microphone unit.
The integrated battery allows an operating time of 6 hours and a stand-by-operation of 9.5 hours at least. As soon as
the operating voltage is too low for a satisfactory operation, the operating control LED is ashing on the rear of the
housing. The charging time for a completely empty battery is around 1 hour.
When several discussion systems are used in one building, the microphone units must know to which system they
belong. Therefore, a system code can be adjusted at the microphone unit in addition to the address. Nine different
system codes allow the use of up to nine discussion systems with up to 250 microphone units each. In renting business
e.g. different systems can be exchanged and completed.
As an option the microphone unit can be supplied by a DC power supply unit.
The design of the housing gives the microphone unit a good physical isolation against mechanical vibration.
