I have written this reference letter to a student applying for a job during her year abroad in Brazil. The idea is to help other teacher that might need to write reference letter. Remember to change the names and to adjust the text to your own needs.

My name is Loiana Pavlichenko and I am responsible for Level B curriculum
development, assessment and Portuguese Language classes delivery at School of Modern Languages, Newcastle University. Our Level B corresponds to a B2 according to the European Framework for Languages, which means that successful students at this level are able to interact in a great variety of social-communicative contexts. They can speak, read and write in Portuguese at an upper-intermediate level.
Ms. Louise Maxwell is currently my student and finished Level B in June 2014 achieving a 1 st (first), this corresponds to a 95/100 in Brazil. Our students must spend the next academic year abroad either in a Portuguese or Spanish speaking country, as their degree is in Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies. Our students are encouraged to experience both, if possible, as being immersed in the culture and language broadens their horizons and sharpens their language skills. Ms. Maxwell is very much looking forward to gaining cultural and professional experience whilst working in Brazil.
I highly recommend Ms. Maxwell as a candidate for Global Translations.Brs International Internship and I truly think she has the best profile for the job. I have been following Ms. Maxwell academic development since her first year at the university and during these last two years not only has she demonstrated great interest in learning and improving her language skills, but also her performance and confidence were always outstanding.
Ms. Maxwell is extremely responsible and dedicated. Her time management is impeccable and she has exceeded the expectations achieving a First and volunteering for VAMOS! Festival, a cultural South American celebration held in Newcastle, having, among others, Newcastle University as sponsor. It has demanded extra curricular work, which Ms. Maxwell has performed outstandingly. She has greatly improved her language skills across the spectrum of the five necessary skills for successful communication. In addition, she is extremely organized, reliable and computer literate. She can work effectively either independently or in a group. She is flexible, willing to learn and highly motivated.
I truly believe Ms. Maxwell would be an outstanding intern and she has my highest recommendation.
If you need any further information with regard to her academic background, please do not hesitate to contact me.
