Appreciation
First of all I am grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to complete assignments given.I would like to thank to who have always been supportive when I complete assignments given in 2 weeks. For my lecturer Mr.Song, thanks for the help and guidance that was given to me with course work in electrical module for this first semester.
INTRODUCTION OF SAFETY MODEL
Safety model refers to step by step that need to be taken before you start any electrical work.It is important to plan your job and follow the safety model to avoid any injuries during perfoming your job. This safety model is to help you to access am evaluate any possible hazards. If you do not recognize, evaluate, and control hazards, you may be injured or killed by the electricity itself. If you use safety model to recognize evaluate and control you are much safer.
THREE STAGES OF SAFETY MODEL
1:RECOGNISE HAZARDS Hazard Hazard is anything by itself or interacts with one another can result in injury. This injury of varying severity, which resulted in the deaths of up to minor injuries. "Occupational Safety and Health Assessment Series 18002" (OHSAS 18002) and ISO / IEC Guide 51:1999 defines a hazard as a source or situation with a potential cause of harm in the context of injury and illness to people, damage to property, damage to the workplace environment, or affiliates. Chemicals, radiation, electricity, biohazard, no safe system of work are some examples of hazards.
risk According to OHSAS 18002, the risk is a combination of the likelihood (probability) and the consequences of a hazardous event occurs. Risk can also be defined as combinations of factors the likelihood of unfortunate events, the exposure and the impact of the accident. The probability here means cansa accident occurred.
TYPE OF HAZARDS
(i) Physical Hazards (ii) Chemical Hazards (iii) Biological Hazards (iv) Ergonomic Hazards
Physical Hazards
Physical hazards are hazards that harm arising from the use of machinery and equipment. An machinery and equipment is considered dangerous if designed unsafe and unsound, not properly maintained, performed by untrained workers, used for no real work, used in different,Changed / illegally amended and the last employees are not ready or do not concentrate while using it.
Chemical Hazards
Among industrial accidents reported were injuries due to contact and inhalation of chemicals. Chemicals used in factories is dangerous and can cause injury if exposed unprotected. Chemicals such as acids, alkalis, gases, solvents, cement, synthetic rubber, fiberglass and adhesive material is dangerous and should be taken precautionary measures when handling.
Biological Hazards
Workers involved in the analysis of biological specimens will normally susceptible to infection disease.Such as the way is through absorption through cuts or scratches on the skin, through the skin or eyes, touch with hands or utensils that have been contaminated with biological.Inokulasi or injection can also occur by means of broken glass or needles in adopting or whatever way that may lead agents can be active in blood.Ingestion tract through the mouth can also occur with smoking cigarettes, do not wash their hands before eating and nail biting habit that can cause hazard that goes into the blood. The presence aerosol as a result of various laboratory procedures such as spills, centrifugation, shaking, homogenizing, burning and sparks.
Ergonomic Hazards
Ergonomic hazards associated with human incompatibility with his environment. It is often associated with faults or weaknesses engineering design and work processes to meet the needs of human physiology and psychology. For example, typing job in good condition ergonomic not been shown to result in 'Carpel Tunnel Syndrome and back pain.
2:EVALUATE HAZARDS
The second stage in safety model is to evaluate hazards. When evaluating hazards,it is best to identify all possible hazards first, then evaluate the risk of injury from each hazards. hazards may occur because when people always turn the switch usage. You way should select the appropriate working hours as this can also prevent the occurrence of any hazard. You must avoid working during unfavorable weather such as rain, lightning and thunder.Do the work in pretty lighting and in comfortable circumstances to do any moving.Must wise to choose a good environment to avoid any bad hands off and is always wise to control a hazard to themselves and to the public.
3:CONTROL HAZARD
The last step in safety model is to control the hazard. electricity can be controlled in two ways that's to create a safe working environment of the area of any shape used hazard.keep clean and good tools condition.Use this as best as possible and do not use the machine continuously because it can cause the engine to heat up and curtail life machine.Save of this machine has always apply the machine is damaged, be sure to have the skills and knowledge sufficient to repair the faulty equipment itu.If that, the danger will happen. Complying with workplace regulations to follow all the speculation that has been designated as wear protective clothing such as safety boot, jacket, gloves, helmet and that's mask. With control electrical hazards can reduce the risk of injury and death.
CONCLUSION
Finally, the security is very important to do a job whether in private or group.safety emphasized to ensure all Particular danger occurs when we do work.Safety also not only for yourself but also for the use of public. As a professional technician, measures safety is important and should be complied with to ensure all movement into any electric shock occurs Item like, fire and explosion.Job planing is very important to be properly targeted reference and when we do any maintenance work. Teamwork is essential for launch as well as all actions can save a lot of time spent if working alone.
