Annotated Bibliography: Drugs Trafficking

When I Immigrated to United States I heard many things about drug trafficking. The drugs most
mentioned were marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine. The reason I chose this topic is because I
am from a place that is plagued with violent drugs cartel. This semester in English 1010, I chose to
research and write about drug trafficking because I want to know what and why it is so lucrative for the
drug cartels to sneak across internationals borders.

have many drug cartel. If government do a good job maybe we dont have all this kind of problems that
we had now.
Reflection: This article provide very good information, and some specific details for my essay. I will hope
that one day Mexico will be peaceful, but I think that it is a long way off. People do need to be made
aware of the things that are going on so close to us.

Garcia, Viviane. Personal Interview.23 July. 2014

Summary: I interviewed one of my friend about her experience crossing to the United States illegally.
She told me that human trafficking is one of the biggest problems because we put own life and own
families at risk.
Evaluation: She provided good information but she lacked detail at the time I asked her. My interview
with Viviane was of her own personal experience. I heard her frightened voice and saw the tears in her
eyes when she was telling me how bad that experience was. She was a victim of this human
trafficking.
Reflection: I was really interested in the way she explained everything I asked about. It was good specific
information for my essay. I want to create story in my introduction for my readers so they can have
some interest in my topic, and can see the devastation on human trafficking has on life.

between 1989 and 2009, the 86% of women imprisonment being linked to drugs in Chile. This article
summarizes how women in Latin America are falling victim to drug trade in an alarming rate.
Evaluation: This article discussed very interesting information in the statistic that showed the number of
women incarcerated for drugs in Latin America. I will use these statistic in my essay to show the
numbers of women being linking for drugs.
Reflection: I think these women are desperate to earn money, so they are willing to do anything to get
what they want. I believe the most dont want to do it but because they dont have any income they
have no other choice. In my essay I can use this example to show how desperate some people are.

addressed as the desire to require drugs for personal use is growing problem.
Reflection: With the growing drug problem I can imagine how people are going to be affected in this
areas if Latin American legalizes Marijuana. I dont believe the legalization of Marijuana offers a good
benefit. I will use this article to help argue against the legalization of marijuana.

kind of news on drug trafficking. I will used this point to analyze how people are really affected with this
kind of problems.

how people get more addicted to drugs. Tremendous reach and how much harm they can be mentally
as well as physically.

Jenner, Matthew s. International Drug Trafficking. Indiana Journal of global Legal Studios. Summer
2011. Print. 21 Jul. 2014
Summary: This article suggests something radical. Basically the writer talk of past attempts to control
drugs, and how we have failed or only had marginal success fighting drugs. Instead they write about
universal legalization and letting countries mandate on their own terns.
Evaluation: I found this article to make sense in a way. Legalization of drugs would literally put the
traffickers out of business, but at the same time all the money, life, and time that we lost fighting drugs,
would almost be in vain.
Reflection: This article helped me to improve my point of view about legalization of drug. I will use this
article in my essay for arguing and support of drug legalization. I might agree with legalization of some

drugs but I till question full support of drug legalization. To put my two side I might agree we legalization
of some drug.

Summary: This author summarized the point that there may be a connection between how much
women make as opposed to men in countries. Where trafficking and migration are high and whether. It
has anything to do with people decision to traffic or migrate.
Evaluation: This article is entirely over writing most overage people do not possess the vocabulary to
enjoy these reading let alone gain anything from them. It has a point but its almost lost in the sea of
works.
Reflection: I reflect on how I would write something. Is it for someone to learn and gain from? This
article was short and lost on me.

Medrano, Lourdes. Tiny Robots to Prowl US-Mexico Borders Dark Drug Tunnels. Cristian Science
Monitor. 26 Jan. 2014. Print. 21 Jul. 2014
Summarize: This information indicates the need for some drastic measures to be talcum to counter drug
trafficking in the United State. One of the ideas for controlling drugs trafficking is to employ drug
fighting robots to patrol some uncharted and threatening drug tunnels.
Evaluation: This information was very informative. It got the point and made me feel the sense of
urgency for using these border patrols. Officers feel they need robots.to fight drug Trafficking. I thing is a
good idea to uses this kind of robots to fight.
Mamales 6

Reflection: I am going to use this information, to reflect on how far we have come. We even have robots
on the border now. The feeling is that maybe the problem on our own border is one we should worry
about more than going to Iraq every other year.

Print. 21 Jul. 2014
Summarize: This author is making a point about the price of cocaine dropping due do to overabundance
of the drug, as opposed to the ultra-high demand and short supply.
Evaluation: I found this article informative. They talked about the price of cocaine dropping, because of
its overabundance. If there is a surplus of the drug cocaine there may be less of this drug trafficking.
Reflection: This method of communication showed good information. And I will used it in my essay to
discuss the possibility of less drug trafficking with this drug cocaine due to its surplus supply.
