College Mission and Vision
Background

The College of Science and Technology, formerly known as the Royal Bhutan
Institute of Technology was shifted to the present campus from Dewathang in
2000. In 2001 the institute was upgraded to a degree awarding College. The
College is located at Rinchending five hours drive from Thimphu and about ten
miutes drive from Phunetsholing. is the only engineering college offering degree
courses. It is located at Rinchending in Phuentsholing, five hours drive from
Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan and Paro, the International airport. It is five
kilometers away from the Indian Border town of Jaigoan in West Bengal. It is
number one destination within country for Bhutans brightest students. The
college was established in 2001 and is funded by The Royal Government of
Bhutan.

BE Civil Engineering: The programme
aims to enable students to:
-formulate / prepare
project proposals and plans
-design, analyse, prepare working drawings
and estimates of various
civil
engineerin

structures
-execute / supervise the construction of
various civil engineering projects with quality control
measures
-carry out civil engineering related tests and
field investigation works.
-carry out survey for
civil engineering works
-carry out feasibility studies for

Engineering: The programme prepares students to:
-plan, analyse, design, and develop application
of devices and systems
involving
electronic

-plan, analyse, design, implement and manage
communication system and network infrastructure
with quality control measures and be environmentally
conscious
-identify, analyse, formulate, and solve
electronics and communication engineering problems
Class XII passed
