I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
1. Identify and name sewing tools; and
2. Cite the use/s and function/s of each sewing tool.

II. LEARNING TASK
A. Topic: USE OF SEWING TOOLS
B. References: Learning Module Grade 7 TLE
C. Materials: realia, cut-outs, laptop and LCD projector
D. Teaching Strategy: Inquiry Approach
E. Application: Sewing tools are used to accomplish sewing tasks.

III. LEARNING SEQUENCE

A. Motivation
The teacher will post a table written on a cartolina. The table is divided into five
columns which contains the terms MEASURING TOOLS, CUTTING TOOLS,
MARKING TOOLS, PINNING & SEWING TOOL and MATERIALS in columns 1, 2,
3, 4 and 5 respectively. She will put pictures of examples of each category on the
table/desk. She will then call students to classify the examples as either measuring tools,
cutting tools, marking tools, pinning & sewing tool or materials. The student will post the
picture on the column in which they think the picture of the example belongs to. (The
table that the students completed is shown below.)

2. What do you think are these? Where do we use these materials shown by the
pictures?

Teacher now reveals the topic of the lesson.

Teacher process the answers of students eliminating the misconceptions of the
students. She will show a slide which contains the picture of a tape measure. She will ask
the class the name of the picture (which is obvious a tape measure). The students will
also give the uses of a tape measure after identifying its name. Teacher repeats the
process until the last picture to be shown is thread.

C. Application

After discussing the names and uses of the different sewing tools, teacher will ask the
following questions?

1. Where do we use these materials?
2. What is the importance of knowing the names and uses of these materials?
3. What are the things that we should avoid or not do when using these materials
for example using the scissors?
