Requirements:
LiteraryAnalysis(essayanddiscussion):Thisincludesallhomeworkandinclassworkrelatedto
literatureduringtheyear.Youwillhaveavarietyofwaystoapproachdifferentreadings,butnomatter
theassignment,clear,concisewritingwithstronganalysiswillbeanessentialpartofyoursuccess.
Writingwillbeworthasignificantportionofyourgrade,anduseofproperandacademicwritingstyles
willplayanimportantpartinyoursuccess.
Discussion:Allstudentsarerequiredtousingspeakingskillstoparticipateinandleadclassdiscussions
ofliteratureandothermaterials.Discussionalsoincludesrespectfortheviewsofothers,notaforumfor
astudentspoliticalviews,unlesshandledinaprofessionalandeducatedmanner.Itisimperativethat
youreadandtakenotesonthereadingselectionbeforewediscussthem.
ResearchProjects:YouwillimplementresearchstrategiestocompleteaCapstoneproject,as
dictatedbytheMemphisCitySchoolAdministration,inkeepingwiththenewstatemandatesfor
graduation.FailuretocompletethevariouscomponentsoftheprojectcouldresultinanFforthe
gradingperiodinwhichthecomponentisdue.Thisisanindependentproject,anditiscrucialthatyou
planyourtimewisely.FailuretosubmittheresearchpapercomponenttoTurnitin.comwillresultina
zerofortheresearchpaper.
Tests/Quizzes:Testswillbedoneattheendofaunit.Literaryterms,vocabulary,andliteraryanalysis
