NeoCryl A-622

NeoCryl A-622 is an aqueous acrylic copolymer
which offers outstanding water and humidity
resistance. NeoCryl A-622 is the resin of choice
for high performance metal finishing, combining
the fast dry characteristics of NeoCryl A-601
with the high gloss of A-621. Supplied pre-
coalesced and "ready-to-go", NeoCryl A-622
eliminates the need for further coalescing
solvents.
Key Benefits

Humidity Resistance
Early Water Resistance
Salt Spray Resistance
Mar Resistance

Spraying

NeoCryl A-622 is supplied "ready-to-go" and can easily be sprayed using conventional air and
airless spray equipment. The optimum viscosity for spraying NeoCryl A-622 is 40-45 seconds on a
#4 Ford Cup. For air spraying recommended pressure is 45 to 50 psi gauge pressure.

FORMULATING GUIDE
Flash Rusting

The following materials have exhibited good resistance to flash rusting when used with NeoCryl A-
622:

Type Level Lbs/100 Gallons
Ammonium Benzoate 8-10
(10% solution in water)
Potassium Dichromate 8-10
(10% solution in water)

Defoamers
Type Level Lbs/100 Gallons
Foamaster W 88 4-5 lbs
Drewplus Y-200 2-3 lbs
Foamaster NXZ 1-2 lbs

Dispersants
Type Level % on Level of TiO
2

Daxad 30 .7
Surfynol Tg .1
Nopcosant K .7
Tamol 165 1.5

In an evaluation of dispersants both Nopcosant K and Daxad 30 exhibited good results from the
standpoint of fineness of grind, mill base viscosity and gloss. However, when a combination of
daxad 30 and Surfynol Tg were used, the lowest mill-based viscosity was obtained. Tamol 165
gives best resistance to flocculation.
