Continuously worship in your mind Vinayaka, the son of Gauri
and the refuge of devotees for the attainment of longevity,
desires or wealth. Worship him first as the one with the twisted
trunk ,Secondly as the single tusked one, Thirdly as the one with
dark brown eyes, Fourthly as the one with the elephants mouth,
Fifthly as the huge bellied one, Sixthly as the fearsome one,
Seventhly as the king of obstacles, Eighthly as the smoke col-
ored one, Ninthly as the moon crested one, Tenthly as the
remover of obstacles, Eleventh as the universal Brahman and
Twelfth as the elephant faced one.

Whosever devoutly recites these twelve names at dawn, noon
and evening experiences no fear of failure, only constant for-
tune. He who desires wisdom, wealth, sons or liberation will at-
tain all these. Whosoever chants this hymn to Ganapati
reaches him in six months and in one year without doubt he
attains perfection. Whoever writes and gifts this hymn to eight
Brahmins attains wisdom immediately, due to the grace of
Ganesha.

auspicious things), shive (good and noble), sarva
(all) artha (wealth), sadhike (the shelterer, the ful-
filler), sharanye (salutations), trayambke (multi-
formed), gauri (bright one), narayani (Divine
Mother), namostute (salutations to Thee).

Namo deviyai mahadevyai shivayei satatam namah
Namah prakrityai bhadraya niyatah pranatah sma tam

Salutations to the Divine Mother, who is auspicious. Salu-
tations to Prakrti who maintains. Setting our minds wholly
upon Her, we make obeisance to Her.

Raudraye namo nityayai gauryei dhatrayei namo
namah, Jyotsnaye chenduroopinyei sukhayei satatam
namah.

Salutations to Her who is eternal, Raudra, Gauri, and
Dhatri, To her who is the moonlight and in the form of
the moon, To her who is supreme bliss, Salutations for-
ever.

Kalyanei pranatam vriddhayei siddhai kurmo namo na-
mah, Naitrityei bhoobhritam lakshmye sharvanyei te
namo namah.

Humbly, we make obeisance to the auspicious One Who
is prosperity in the form of wealth, To Siddhi, Nairiti, and
to the good fortune of Kings, To Sarvant, Salutations,
Salutations, Salutations.

Durgayei durgparayei sarayei sarvakarinye,
Khyatyei tathaiva krishnayei dhoomrayei satatam
namah.

Oh! Durga, to you who enables men to cross the ocean
of the world, Who is the life and strength and cause of
all, the Knower of the distinction between Purusha and
Prakrti and who is yet universally one, Salutations.
Atisaumyatiraudraye natastasyei namo namah
Namo jagatpratishthaye devyei krityei namo namah

We prostrate ourselves before Thee, who art at Once
most gentle and formidable, Salutations to you who art
the material cause of the world, To the Divine Mother,
who is in the form of action.

Ya devi sarva bhooteshu Vishnu mayoti shabdita,
Namastasyei namastasyei namastasyei namo namah

Oh! Divine Mother who is all things, the illusory (Maaya)
power of Vishnu, the inscrutable all pervading Devi, Salu-
tations to you again and again.

Ya devi sarva bhooteshu chetanetya bhidheeyate,
Oh! Divine Mother, who is known as consciousness, in all
beings, Salutations to you, Salutations to you.
Ya devi sarva bhooteshu buddhi roopen sansthita

Oh! Divine Mother who dwells in the form of intelligence
in all beings. Salutations to you, again and again

Ya devi sarva bhooteshu nidra roopen sansthita

Oh! Divine Mother who is in the form of sleep abides in all
beings Salutations to you, again and again

Ya devi sarva bhooteshu kshudha roopen sansthita

Oh! Divine Mother who exists in all beings in the form of
hunger, Salutations to You again and again.

Ya devi sarva bhooteshu chhaya roopen sansthita

Indriyana madhishthatri bhootanam chakhileshu ya
Bhooteshu satatam tasyei vyaptidevyei namo namah

Salutations Oh! Divine Mother Who is the Presiding Deity
over the sense of all beings, Who is ever in all beings and
who pervades all things. Salutations to You again and
again.

Chitiroopen ya kritsnam etadvyapya sthita jagat,

Oh! Divine Mother who in the form of consciousness,
Having pervaded all the world, exists therein, Salutations
to You again and again.

Stuta surei poorvam bheeshthasamshraya
Tatha surendrena dineshu sevita
Karotu sa nah shubhahe tu reeshwari
Shubhani bhadranya bhihantu chapadaha

Praised aforetime by the Devas, By reason of their ob-
taining that which they desired, Worshipped by Surendra
on days of Vistory May the Aishwary, who is the cause of
all good, bless us and ward off all calamities

Ya sampratham cho dhata dayete tapee tayehe

Asmanbhi reeshacha surai na masyatai

Ya cha smrita taksha-
nameva hanti nah

Sarvapado bhaktivinamra
moortibhih.

And may She who is now
saluted by us as our Mother,
As also by the Suras, tor-
mented by arrogant Asuras,
Whom we call to mind As we
bow in devotion to Her to
Destroy at this very moment,
all our calamities.

Salutations to the Devi who has the moon and sun as
her eyes and whose face is like a brilliant flame. You
are enshrined in the form of Bhairav and the destroyer

Salutations to the Devi who leads us to
heaven. Mother you are the curer of all
diseases who finally grants us liberation. O
bestower of all desires, we bow to thee.

If one chants these verses by Vyas Ji,
wherever one may be with all devotion
one will receive the eternal grace of the
Devi.

Durga Aarti
Jai ambe gaurii maiyaa, Jai duraga gaurii
Tumako Nishadina dhyaavata, brahma Hari shivajii

"Glory to you, O divine Mother Gauri, glory to you, O
Parvati, who are so rich in maiden grace (virgin beauty),
the object of daily meditation by Vishnu, Brahma and
Shiva!"
Maanga sinduura viraajata, Tiko jaga madako
Ujjvalase dauu nainaa, Chandravadana niiko

"O Ambe! On your forehead is a resplendent mark of
vermilion along with a mark of musk (signifying good
luck). Your twin eyes are bright and your face beautiful
as the moon."

Kanaka samaana kalevara, Raktaambara raaje
Raktapushpa galamaalaa, Kanthahana para saaje

"Your body with a tinge of gold is splendidly dressed in
red attire; on your throat lies a garland of red blossoms
like a beautiful necklace."

Kehari vaahana raajata, Khadaga khappara dhaari
Sura nara munijana sevata, Tinake dukha haari

"Your vehicle, the lion, is, O Mother in keeping with your
splendid form; you bear a sword and a skull in your
hands, and you attend to gods, men, hermits and your
devotees whose grief you drive away."
Kaanana kunadala shobhita, Naasaagre motii
Kotika chandra divaakara, Sam raajata jyotii

"You are adorned with rings on your ears and with pearl
on the tip of your nose, your radiance looks as splendid
as that of myriad of suns and moons."

Shumbha nishumbha bidaare, Mahishaasura ghaatii
Dhuumra vilochana nainaa, Nishadina madamaatii

"O slayer of the demon Mahisha, you tore apart the bod-
ies of Shumbha, Nishumbha and Dhuumravilochana. (In
the battle waged against them) your eyes reflected a
frenzy of fury everyday and night."

Chanda munda samhare shonit beeja hare
Madhu kaitaba douoo maare, Sur bhaya heena kare

O Mother Durga, it was you who destroyed the demons
Chand, Mund, Raktabeej, Madhu and Kaitabha to save
the devas.
Brahmaanii rudraanii, Tuma kamalaa raanii
Aagama-nigamani bakhaanii, Tuma shiva pataraanii

"You are the beloved consort of Brahma, Rudra and
Vishnu. The Vedas and the Shastras describe you as the
queen consort of Shiva,"

Chausatha yoginii gaavata, Nritya karata bhairon
Baajata taala mridanga, Aura baajata damaruu

"Sixty-four Yoginis chorus your praise and glorify you,
while Bhairava (Shiva) dances in tune to the accompa-
niment of the sounds of the mridanga and damaru
drums.

Tuma hii jaga kii maataa, Tuma hii ho bhartaa
Bhaktana kii dukha hartaa, Sukha sampati kartaa

"You are mother of the universe, its sustainer, reliever of
your devotees' affliction and bestower of happiness and
prosperity."
Bhujaa chaara ati shobhita, Vara mudraa dhaarii
Manavaanchita phala paavata, Sevata nara naarii

"The four arms you have adorned your person, while the
hand raised in benediction reveals your benign aspect.
Those among men and women who wait on you and
worship you have all their cherished wishes ever fulfilled."

Kanchana thaala viraajata, Agaru kapuura baatii
Shree Maalaketu mein raajata, Kotiratana jyotii

"In a golden platter are beautifully laid camphor, which I
have lighted (to be waved before you); in the radiance
of your forehead is reflected the splendour of a myriad
gems."

Shree Ambe Ji ki aarati, Jo koi nar gaavei
Kahat Shivaananda Swaamii, Sukh sampti paawe

Whosoever sings this aarti with devotion get a myriad of
wealth, so says swami Shivaananda
