ABOUT US

Meri Toksave is a youth led, non-for-profit initiative that aims to
address gender-based violence in Papua New Guinea. It is
essentially based on overcoming the inaccessibility of
emergency services contact information for those affected by
family and sexual violence. Meri Toksave aims at tackling this
issue by improving information accessibility through the
creation of this directory. The process of the formation of this
directory was completely self-funded by the Meri Toksave
executive team, however sponsorship for printing was
generously provided by Moore Printing. Meri Toksave has also
included sexual health services in the directory, as sexual and
reproductive health is central to the empowerment of women.
This directory has three main strengths:
1. It is the first of it's kind to be distributed publically.
2. It acts as a map for other Non Governmental Organisations
to identify services.
3. It highlights the gaps in services throughout the country
especially in: mental health, counselling, safe houses and
paralegal support.
