Course Description:
1. To enable students to develop his capacity to perceive, understand and appreciate works of an art through study
of the organization of the various elements and the medium and techniques.
2. To enable him to see each work of art in socio-historical context, as a part of an overall development
3. To enable him to develop s critical and analytical mind and thus to make his own value elements on works of art.
4. To enhance his enjoyment of the art, particularly those of his own cultural heritage.
Course Intended
Learning Outcomes:

1. At the end of the course the student shall be able to acquire a comprehensive knowledge in a nature of art as an
activity and on the works of art as a significant entity.
2. Appreciate and apply what art and what its function and what works of art attempt to represent what mediums
and techniques are use and how elements organized.
3. Understand the usual art music literature and the combined arts.
4. Evaluate the significance about the different history of the arts which are divided into three section- Western Arts,
Asian Arts and the art of the Philippines.
5. Discuss the characteristic of particular styles the factors that brought them about and representative works and
arts.
