(ndia has one of the largest higher education systems in the world .3espite having the
largest higher education system, the quality of education, in general, cannot be claimed to
be the best. &echnical and vocational Education in (ndia has seen enormous growth in
recent years with a large increase in total number of institutes imparting higher education.
4n one hand, this growth promises to produce more s$illed youth to fulfill needs of ever
growing (ndian industry and on the other hand it poses a huge challenge for the
governing bodies li$e 5*", 6("&E, 7"8&, 7"&E, 9"(, :"(, (7", 3"( etc and state
technical education boards to maintain # improve the quality of education being
imparted through these new # e!isting technical and 8ocational institutes. ,ut as has

in its +22; report, out of < million graduates and post%graduates added to the wor$force

to the problems li$e unemployment1underemployment, which detain will lead to their
disapproval # hence their offense that will be reflected in terms of an increase in crime
and other antisocial activities.
