Program Notes:
Imagine a fresh snowfall, with trees shrouded, and the sun rising slowly above them. I do not know if
there is another image that possesses the extremes of fragility and grandeur as much as a fresh snowfall on
tress, lit indirectly by a rising sun. (Hazo program notes) Hennepin County Dawn captures this
picturesque moment in beautiful and glorious sound.

Additional Comments:
What is at the heart of this piece?
I believe the heart of this piece is living in a moment. The freshly fallen snow clinging and crystalizing on
a tree branch is eeting such as our life. Moments come and go in a ash - some bring beauty, some pain;
but this piece gives us an opportunity to simply pause, close our eyes, imagine, and soak in a moment.
I would play this piece with: High School Band/Honor Band
Collegiate Band
I would recommend this piece: Yes ! No !
