Membership Application to the White Rock Boat Club

The White Rock Boat Club (WRBC) encourages boating for all persons interested in sailing, whether for pleasure or
competition. The WRBC seeks to establish a community in which sailing becomes a rewarding experience, as well as a life-
long passion. WRBC members may participate in local, state, and national sailing regattas. Membership to the WRBC does not
include sailing lessons, boat awareness training, boat safety and rescue training, among other boating-related activities. You
may be placed on a waiting list for pads/slips as may come available. An application must be submitted in order to be placed on
the waiting list. If you have any questions, please visit our website at www.whiterockboatclub.com for more information.

The White Rock Boat Club offers boat slips/pads on a use basis. The facilities are available to members only and
all annual membership fees must be paid on April 1 of every year.

Slips, pads, and kayak spaces are offered on a “first come/first served” basis and only as available.

Users of the slips/pads are responsible for the maintenance of them as outlined in the By-laws.

Two mandatory “work days” are required of each club member for repair/maintenance of the pier and club
facilities. A fine is levied for missing these work days.

Membership of non-sailboat owners is limited by the By-Laws to 30% of the total membership. Your application
approval may be delayed if you are not a sailboat owner and that percentage has been reached.

The club has club-owned boats, which may be available and assigned to prospective members who wish to race.
These boats are available on a ‘first come first served” and “as available” basis. Members who have a boat
assigned to them are responsible for all maintenance/repair fees, and related equipment damage/replacement costs.

Boater Education Certification and sailing lessons are offered by members and non-members who volunteer their
time and are not the responsibility of the club.

Club facilities are available to club members and their guests for social occasions free of charge.

The club commodore must approve of every boat as being appropriate in weight and length for club davit use.

The club offers several racing opportunities for members in several venues and is a member of the Joint Lake
Racing Committee.

A member deemed “inactive” by the club may lose their membership privileges as outlined in the by-laws. A
copy of the by-laws will be provided upon request.

The club will not be responsible for bodily injury to or for loss of or damage to property of members, visitors, or
guests, except to the extent that such occurrences may be covered by the liability insurance carried by the club.

10. I agree to abide by and become familiar with terms of the By-Laws of the White Rock Boat Club and any amendment to
them. I also agree to act civilly and without deliberate damage to any property existing at the club. I agree to obey all
ordinances of the City of Dallas. By signing this I understand I have read and understand the conditions outlined on both
pages of this application and have made a copy for future reference
